Though I will say I tend to each the pineapple and pizza seperately when I receieve this type. Not from disgust, its just a habit. 
Absolutely, NOT! It's Americanized attempt to add a Hawaiian flair to the pizza, that went bad. But some people fell for it and it stuck. It did not make sense then, nor does it make any better sense now. NO PINEAPPLE ON PIZZA!
