When someone tells you or shows you that they no longer love you ( or never really did ) believe them, and stop trying to get them to change their minds

I really am alone, and in most respects, I probably am better off for it. All of the people around me now are paid to be there; nurses once or twice a week, caregiver who I reslly like and respect, physical therapist whom I would aspire to be like, if I could ever live this life again. Other than my angy seventeen year old, they are the only people I see, or have seen, outside my landlord, for near on two years. Has it made my life worse or better? I can't say. Has the world noticed my absence as this disease slowly takes me? No. It has simply gone on spinning. People moved forward, as they should. My presence in their lives was fully insignificant, easily forgotten or moved beyond. My footprint is so small now, there are less than 5 people who would even notice me missing, when my day gratefully comes. I just keep asking myself.... What did I ever do which was so wicked and wrong that I deserved this kind of soul shredding isolation? Does cancer do this to everyone? I had a good job once. I was a wife; abused maybe, but I was one. I did have friends once upon a time, didn't I...people who weren't paid to care? I wasn't so alone once.

@Hunnyluv1l

Oh Hunny, I am so sorry for the situation you've found yourself in. An angry 17 year old, a cancer diagnosis, and loneliness - just one of those is a lot to cope with, never mind the combination. I just wanted to reassure you you're not alone, I hear you. Try not to lose sight of you, of the footprint you have made, even if you feel currently it's very small. Is your seventeen year old angry through fear? Seeing what her mum is facing, not knowing what the future holds? Maybe your social circle is small, but you still matter to those people in it. Very much. Please don't underestimate your worth.
