The best gift I have ever been given is......
Time with a special person :)
The best gift I've ever got was a toy when I was around 7? There was an expensive toy which had come out that year. Everyone wanted it, everyone had it. I also wanted to have it. We couldn't afford it though, we didn't have the money for a reckless purchase, my mother had explained in a beautiful way. I did understand. I didn't get mad or jealous of the other kids. A few days pass and it was my birthday. I came back home and the table was full of gifts. Among all the packages my mother had got me, there was one which looked like that desirable expensive toy. I quickly unwrapped the paper, but to my surprise it wasn't that. It was an imitation of that game. I was shocked. I did a step back, I looked at the toy, I looked at the rest and then I looked at my mother who has that worried face on (I couldn't understand them, but I can now) and I ran to hug her, crying. I felt so happy and so grateful for her. She asked me if it's okay that it wasn't the real toy. Of course it was okay. It couldn't not to be okay. It was so beautiful (and it also had things the "authentic" one didn't have). Kids were jealous of my toy and I felt so special because it was the toy my mother got me.
This is the best gift I've received, because I remember everything too well. The way I felt, what we said, her expression. I felt, and I still do, so grateful for her.
@Random28 That is a beautiful memory
@Blissfularrow thank you ♡
A moment when I felt like things were okay. I wasn't anxious. I wasn't depressed. The person/people I were with wanted my company. I can't remember the exact moment and it might just be a bunch of pieces of different moments to make up one collective moment. But I was happy. And I felt like I belonged.
My children
The best gift I ever got was time. It's always time. For me, it is a very intimate gift because it's a part of a person's life that you will never take back again. So I always value my loved ones' time. :)
The ability to listen to all the positive things and negative things about me and life from people and remain equanimous like Gautama Buddha is my developed habit and my gift.
A chance to repair my life.
It's gonna sound cheesy, but at least not having any physicall disorders is a big thing to be greatful for in my opinion. I might not be doing alright mentally but at least that is the only part of me that needs healing.
The best gift i've been given is life :) And the ability to help others
The best gift I've been given is the gift of life.
