I got dispatched to a GSW to the head, drive by shooting in the middle of the night, and it was someone who actually worked at the hospital. (I'm a previous EMT). I honestly think that's the scariest thing I've had to do.
there are too many, that has happened is getting ran over by two cars going the opposite direction
Doing a presentation
Tried to join a community of "purpose chasers."
two year back on 8th decday my dad got unconscious all of sudden though we were laughing few mins before and he had just return from hospital from heart surgery.
I still remember his face and mom was totally blank.
One thing i could thought to do is to take him anyway to hospital and for two days he was serious. God grace he is fine now. But i still getnervous when these day come every year.
If i talk about future than i want to do skydiving before i die. It is in my bucket list.
It's a little silly, since I've been in actual dangerous situations, but the scariest thing to me is opening up to and trusting other people. When I try to open up to other people I get so anxious and terrified that a lot of the time it forces me into inaction - it's like a literal physical force preventing me from being open.
Letting go of fear. Of problems, situations, people, opportunities, places. Of what what/could happen.
And thereafter trusting myself.
went to my brother's funeral and my dad's funeral.
@dapperTree9488
Sorry for your loss.
Heart surgery at six but before that the doctor told my mother I wont live past twelve of I don't get the surgery
The sacriest thing I've ever done (albeit unintentionally) was sleepwalk in the university dorm which was rumored to be haunted.
Confronting someone who was emotionally abusive to me
@Bekind3001
At first, I red "Comforting someone who abused me", but that's just because it's what I feel I have to do all the times with my parents. I think they're both mentally unstable, especially my mother. And it scares me like hell, it feels almost compulsory when I see them so fragile, but also so wrong under so may aspects, also, I always have to put aside and ignore all the abuse, try to be the grown up person and help them manage their emotions. How would this be fair? I am their daughter, not vice-versa, nor I am a damn babysitter.
So with family therapy I started to do both things: confronting and then comforting right after, it's so messed up! And they can't deal with it, they behave like 5 years old, throwing the blame on each others and trying to convince me the other one messed up worse, trying to involve me in their quarrels... I'm starting to understand now, thanks to therapy, that I don't have to do any of this, my parents' emotions management is not my responsibility, I shouldn't have to comfort any of them, especially if I am not even involved or if I am the injuried party. It's so draining
@AmberGlowFalls Oh my, I'm so sorry you have to go through this. Reading your situation makes me stressed, you must be going through so much more. It sucks when your parents aren't emotionally stable. You're a really strong person for doing this. It's great that you've realised this, hope you have a great life <3
@Bekind3001
Sorry! I didn't mean to make you stressed ahahah O.O
Reading what I wrote, it really sounds like I'm a strong person, but from my perspective, it really doesn't seem so. I've had so many troubles growing up, I've not always (maybe never) been able to manage the situation, especially at a young age, and I'm having such a hard time now also. The consequences I was left with led me to make some wrong choices, as it often happens, and to endure even more abuse. I fell so many times, I was miserable , always struggling, I'm not invulnerable. Now I feel better, I am working on my open wounds, I am more conscious of myself and of my weaknesses and I hope this will help me to recognize and avoid as much as I can situations and people that would be damaging to me.
I know how much courage it takes to face your abusers and stand up for yourself, especially after an abuse, when your self esteem and worth have been so challenged. I see you as strong and brave too, I definitely think you are
@AmberGlowFalls Omg Amber, you're so sweet despite going through so much. I love that even after everything, you're not willing to give up and that's true willpower. You're an inspiration <3
@Bekind3001
I'm blushing now ahahah You warmed up my day, I was never called an inspiration ^^
I guess some people are so sweet THANKS to everything they went through. Some react becoming more and more self-centered or selfish, some others risk to exceed on the other end, becoming very caring, selfless and altruistic people, and I think being here as listeners makes us fall in the latter category. I do struggle a lot, indeed, to understand what my needs and my wants are, while I'm super good at understanding other's. And this can be a curse. It got me in a lot of troubles. Beware of the coin's double face
@AmberGlowFalls Hahaha yes I feel you. Being a listener is a different experience. Anyway, I really hope you have a brilliant life and are able to deal with life's hurdles with the great strength that you have. If you ever need someone to talk to, I'm always here 😊💖
