When I was little, I always wanted to fit in and be accepted by others. I never really understood why I was always alone, why no one wanted to spend time with me. Till this date, I still face the same problem.. Well, this is depressing.
@inattentionismymiddlename
You're not alone - you have us, here at 7 Cups! <3
@inattentionismymiddlename I know exactly what you mean. I always thought others were better than me. Prettier than me. Richer than me. I was shy and withdrawn becaus me of it. Now I do not have many friends either because part of me still feels that way. I try to build confidence in my kids. I have lacked it all my life.
@Firejewel40
One thing I can tell you, is that if you realize we all have our problems, rich or poor, beautiful or plain, smart in books or smart in life (though not realizing we are either), then you will begin to feel your power. I have been around for 56 years, and I can tell you this - EVERYONE has anxiety about something! They just learn to focus on the positive, and that is in reach of all of us. The next time you feel inferior, FOCUS on what you have to OFFER the world. I assure you, there is SOMETHING there!!!
@inattentionismymiddlename
Chances are, you have something unique inside you, something the world hasn't seen before! Not fitting in isn't necessarily a bad thing, if you learn to appreciate your born gifts. Go get 'em!
in fairies and magic and good witches and some sort of mystical order in the universe.
When I was little I believed if I went high enough in the swings I could fly.
@SaraLynn3004
I used to dream of standing on the sofa with my arms spread, and then leaning forward and flying around the room. It was great!
@IHearYa I used to have these dreams too! Flying was great :)
That when you die and go to heaven, your body floats up to it. When my dad died of cancer (I was 5), the ambulance had taken him from the hopital bed in our front room before I was told he had passed. I saw the empty bed, and looked up at the ceiling to find the hole he made when he ascended into heaven. I asked my mom, "Didn't anybody see him?" lol!
@IHearYa that is cute 😂 love it.
That the world was awful. Everyone around me just seemed exhausted. As I grew, I realized that the world isn't as bad as it is made out to be.
@whimsicalWriting43
You are a strong person! You have overcome your upbringing, and managed to find the good in life. Congratualtions! I'm proud of you!
I believed that there were magical hideaways where fairies and unicorns and other magical creatures lived and I just had to find the right path in the woods, hole in the ground to crawl into or hollow in a tree and I would find them.
When I was little, I believed that feeling sadness, anger, and everything else goes away as you grow but I was wrong. Everyone still goes through it. But, I do know that we're all strong enough to overcome them.
When I was little I believed that the world was kind to everyone, and that my family was always free of danger.
@sacredxcow
It is great that you had a nurturing environment when you were growing up, that you felt safe. Many people do not have this luxury. Don't let the world get you down! Help someone else feel safe.
Everyone meant well.
@no2am truth
@no2am
Most people do, they do their best. We all have different upbrinings, beliefs, fears, insecurities. But it seems like there are some people, mostly the mentally unstable, who do harm for no reason. Others believe they have good reasons, based on their past. Either way, not everyone is "good".
But I still stand by the premise that people do the best with what they have, mentally, physically, and materially.
When i was little, i believed... in santa. And tooth fairy, etc etc.
@epea11 did you really? I feel like kids go along with it because it's fun
@no2am yeah i did but i kinda went with it for the fun after i was like 10 ish
@epea11 what was that like? Were you upset they lied, or disappointed?
@epea11
Hahaha! My mom told me about Santa and sex in the same conversation! I was very happy that Santa wasn't real, and I could play along to help my little brother have a great Christmas. And Easter. And tooth loss. I could have done without the sex talk, though. lol!
@no2am oh noo LoL I was believing in Santa and tooth fairy till I saw my family packing the gifts for each other for Christmas and my Dad took the tooth under my pillow and replaced it with goodies.
