I believed that when you have a dream, and you are focused, and you work hard, you can accomplish whatever your dream is.
As I grew older I realized hard work is not enough. You also need a bit of luck
That the world wasnt a cruel place.
It was all my fault.
I was dirty and my mind was sick...
I've always thought I'd be married and have 3 kids by the time I hit 25. Nope. I'm 45, single mom with one teen boy. At least I've wanted a son and got one. Life is a piece of shit sometimes. I've also thought friends would be for life. No way! Life ain't roses. Just barbed wires and bumpy roads and sometimes dead ends. Take notes young teenagers!
...In fairies and magic and that all my dreams could come true if I worked hard for them.
@Oxatnik That second part is true though. :)
@SarahLove
So, you mean if I pray really hard I can get wings and fly?
When I was little I believed there were "Real Grown Ups" Didn't you? Like "When I grow up everything's going to make sense!" lol
@mikethedj4 Haha yes! I always thought grown ups knew everything and always felt sure and confident of everything. It wasn't until I was in my mid twenties that I figured out they were all pretty much making it up as they went along and I would never really "feel like an adult" because adults were just as unsure of the world as I was.
That love was the nonexistent, and mistreatment was the dominant.
@Laura I believed that Earth was a sphere made of rocks and we were living within the earth , something like this :
When I was very little, I believed that there were alligators under my bed.
When end I was a teenager I thought I wouldn't live to see my 18th birthday (luckily I did... I'm 34 now... and while adulthood is REALLY trying at the moment, it's nowhere near as bad as it was when I was a teen. Things got better pretty much the moment I left high school and my parents' house).
