Hey there everyone 👋 My name is Violet. I'm 22 years old, and trying to navigate my mental health issues as well as my issues with self esteem and security. I often have disproportionate reactions to hurt or rejection. It's linked to the fact that I don't feel like I have much of a support system. I'd like to hopefully build a community here. I've always been a good listener. That's therapeutic for me to. I'm looking forward to getting to know some of you. Don't hesitate to leave me a message.

@Violetsphinx777 hello and nice to meet you 😊 I admire your honesty and thank you for opening up. People need to know our real struggles in order for everyone to feel comfortable and share what works to help us move forward and what doesn't work. Best of luck with your listening journey and your mental health recovery 😊

Hi Violet! thank you for sharing!

When we have a lack of support system, we sometimes seek out approval from others to validate that we "belong". When this doesnt go the way we want, we can have unnecessary unhealthy reactions that cause us to have low self esteem. I can understand why these situations would affect you, its normal to want to feel accepted and liked; i have had this issue as well. Just know that when we place our value into other people its easy for us to be dysregulated. Turning inwards and not absorbing other peoples perceptions is a good way to move forward, observe dont absorb :) i hope that you can find a nice community on 7cups!

I feel very similar. I get worried that I will get rejection from my last trauma. Something that helps that is listening to music to soothe the anxiety. That sometimes helps.
