How to deal with depressed days

Hi I am a newbie. Recently I was diagnosed as a mild depression. Most of the days I’m okay but there are days/nights I feel super down and sad that I can’t do anything.

In those days all I can do is wait and hoping these things pass. Eventually I’ll be okay but it’s wasting my time and feel very miserable. I live with my boyfriend and I feel bad to him for seeing me like this. And at the same time it escalates my sadness because he ignored me when I’m in those moments. I’m crying and feeling urge to hurt myself but he’s asleep next to me.

Hi, I'm sorry to hear about this and sorry for what I'm gonna say, but my suggestion will maybe reconsider your partner. I really believe that a good partner can also be a good therapist for depression. I don't think ignoring you when you are in one of those moments where you need him the most was something correct to do. Maybe you can have a talk with him about this. Maybe like tell him that you want him to do something when it feels like the world is collapsing on you. I wouldn't really suggest to like hide your feelings from your partner because you think it's negative and you don't want to make him feel the same way. but my understanding of a healthy relationship is that no matter it's about happiness or pain, you get to share it with someone else. If you feel like when it's happy you are spending time with him, giving him the same vibe, then when you are sad, maybe it's a good idea to do the same. The meaning of a relationship probably wouldn't only be about the dates and the happy moment, it's more about then you feel like on the edge of giving up, but there's someone supporting you to go farther. I hope everything can go well.
