If you need some support and a compassionate ear to hear you. You can count us.
Now it is your turn!!

Hello everyone i'm Julie and i just registered as listener few minutes ago. I've been having depression and anxiety since few years ago and it goes on and off. I really want to help people who struggling with this issues by listening to them. Sometimes ago, there was a suicide case close to my place. At that time i felt like i could be in that person position. Being depressed, alone, without having anyone to talk to and thinking that leaving the world is the best choice. Since then i always think about how to help people who are in that position. Unfortunately awareness of depression, stress, trauma, and other psychological matter is still so low in my place. People got embarassed to admit that they suffer from depression, rarely people take the case into serious matter. That's why i think i need to take this step, to be the first step helping to prevent another victim of this unfortunate situation. I may be not professional, but i'm willing to help and listen the best i can. And i also wish you all can help me here :)

Hi my name is Bethany but prefer Angel
My name is Alexis as probably seen in my username haha, recently I have been crying a lot for no reason. I have a huge crush/ obsession on a friend of mine and he has begun to ignore me, and our conversations are becoming shorter and shorter. I try to tell him that it hurts that we are so distant but I dont want to seem selfish or whiny or like a drama queen. I dont even think he would care and it hurts. Usually I wouldnt mind it as much but also I have my first year of high school coming up, band camp, and my friends have begun to ignore me, and I have to see every single day of them hanging out without me. They always invite me but I can never make it and Im scared they think Im flaking on them and now they ignore me because of that. I want to talk to someone about it but I just feel whiny and annoying because I still live a good life with my family and Im healthy, I just dont want to seem annoying to those I love.
@chiangalexis777
Hello Alexis,
I've had insecurities on if I'm being annoying to others or not and I think most people go through this. But don't be afraid to share how you feel sometimes. Communication is key to a good relationship with anyone. Your true friends should understand if you have other things going on in your life and they may just feel hurt because they miss you or they have their own personal things going on. And as for your crush, if he's being overly distant I would give him his space. He may be going through something but you can let him know that if he ever needs something you'll be there for him. If it turns out he's just a jerk you can get over him. I'm 18 and graduated high school this year and I look back now and ask myself why I had crushes on 15 year old boys. Most people don't end up staying with their high school crush and may only keep a small amount of close friends from high school and people find themselves in different friend groups over time. Just choose your close circle wisely. I hope this helped.
Take care Alexis. :)
I'm Amy, but I might try and change my name for my online friends, to something more gender neutral. Not sure yet.
I think I might have anxiety, but not diagnosed. I'm questioning my sexuality and gender and honestly I'm really confused about all of it.
I'm really glad I joined 7 cups because everyone seems really kind and accepting, and I really need that right now
Hello! My name is Hannah.
I have anxiety and depression, and I'm gradually trying to work through some self-esteem issues. My mental health journey has faced many ups and downs, but I'm learning to focus on the ups. It hasn't been easy, but I'm learning how to manage it, and that's a huge positive.
I heard of 7 Cups a long time ago, but haven't tried it until now. So far, I'm glad I signed up, and it's great to have a community like this to help support one another.
@courteousStrings2631 Hi! I'm new too, always here for ya if you need someone to talk to :)
Name's Brandyss.
Single mom...I have problems with life... who doesn't right? But it's all my fault. I failed myself. I failed my son. For every right turn, I took 10 wrong ones.
I want to start over. I escape in my mind to soothe and cope with the harsh realities of failure.
Why me? I'm educated, funny, beautiful, I'm caring. I'm a good person...I don't know what I did to be undeserving of happiness... to be unworthy of whatever my grand delusion schemes up. And that's my problem... or so I think. I live in a fantasy world. I don't exist in this one. I can't cope with reality without feeling suffocated. And I do... feel suffocated. The knot in my chest... the chest of incessant worry and anxiety... thickens with each passing day. I sometimes can't breathe. My emotional pain materializes into physical agony that I've learned to live with.
I wear a fake smile and boast the fakest laugh to hide behind a broken life I gave up on long ago. And no matter what happens next, I've already wasted too much time. I am nothing I ever wanted to be. I've gained nothing. I've accomplished nothing. Even if I finally do what I set out to do... who cares... I'll be too dead on the inside to understand what happiness feels like. I'm afraid of that... that emptiness is frightening...deafening.
I don't know what reflection I've been staring at this entire time but I'm not her... if I were... I'd be free....

Hi Brandyss,
I love going into my own world to escape reality too. It seems like in my head I can have anything I want when reality seems disappointing. But recently I've been learning about alignment to my dreams. And I've learned that even though you may want something, you feel like going after it means that you'd have to sacrifice something you don't want to. Do you feel that way? I still keep working on myself and who I want to be. What helps me is writing down my goals and my feelings. It helps me organize my thoughts and can help me understand my feelings. I read that writing down your problems and then throwing it in the trash can help phycologically too. In the mean time think of things that you're really grateful for. Specific things even small things you appreciate. Remember to take care of yourself and your son. You're loved and I really hope you experience the happiness you've been longing to have soon.
I hope this helped.

Hi everyone! My name is Victoria. Based on the posts here, I'm glad I'm not the only one struggling. It's a bit hard to describe but up until now, I've been struggling with anxiety especially social anxiety as well as self-esteem issues. Ever since college, especially coming in as a transfer student, I've felt like I don't belong there and thus escalate my feelings of loneliness and anxiety. I was left with fewer friends and no one I can talk to besides the school counselor about my problems. I find it difficult to talk about these issues with my parents due to the stigma of mental health within my family. This feeling often led me to have self-esteem issues and having negative thoughts such as "I'm a failure. I have no place here. I'm not sure if anyone really cared about me." And thus, I felt even more lonely and that I have no one cared about me. No one asked "how I'm doing" or "are you doing ok." Even within my own family and cousins (whom I used to be close with), I found myself further distancing myself from them. I understand that people are busy and are also struggling with stress and anxieties but it would be nice to keep in touch and reach out at times. I also tend to overthink on every little thing and ruminating on what I should have done as well as a worrying to the point that I've experienced panic attacks. I'm afraid my negative thoughts might lead me to develop depression. I appreciate everyone's time for reading the post.
@Nocturnal234
Hello Victoria!
When I feel lonely I like to have one on one time with people in my life I care about and ask to hang out somewhere maybe get coffee and make sure you have a set date too! And I would talk about my feelings. Of course they're someone I could trust and is a caring person and a good listener. But if you make how you feel known to others, they may reach out to you now that they're aware you feel this way. They could even help you get through these hard times. And maybe other people feel the same way as you do. So if you see someone lonely, you can be the welcoming and inviting person that has made their day.
I hope this has been helpful.

Hello everyone, I'm Mary.
The reason why I joined 7cups is because I just want to seek people that could listen and understand. Life's hard, and having depression makes it harder--not just for me but for the people that surrounds me. I don't want to be a burden but at the same time I don't want to keep silent about what's happening in me--but sadly, no one in my vicinity understands. I'm living in a place where depression is just a mood and nothing serious.
I also get anxiety attacks when forced to socialize---I know it's silly but that's me, and sadly my friends and family don't know that, and thinks that I'm only shy.
I'm the breadwinner in my family cos I'm the eldest, and it's so hard to fake smiles in order not to make them (my family) feel guilty or think that I'm weak, because I need to be strong all the time, not just for me but for them.
