I'm Nick. I'm 21 and I've been going to CC for about 2 years now. I've been struggling with what I want to do in school, but nothing really interests me enough. I've never been in a serious relationship before, and I guess I haven't done a lot of things that most people my age have done already, and sometimes it makes me a little sad.

Oh my God I'm in the same situation. I just started balling crying two minutes ago because my sister is finishing her degree and she started talking about all the cool things she's going to do, I really feel shit now at the moment. I'm the same age as you and I also haven't done any of the things normal people my age are doing.
@Djsjsjsjsjs
I suppose we can be behind together then :)
Seriously though. Sometimes I wish I wasn't in school. Or working. Everything feels like a f***ing slog and I'm tired of it. But if I drop out, I give up my scholarship and my parents will be disappointed.
I dunno. I'm back at square 1 in school since I'm planning on changing my major. I hope things will get better.
UM ok I'm Versatile Tortoise. I don't know if this is the thread for this, I did a search but couldn't find anything else. I was contemplating the therapy here, as I have a psychodynamic therapist I see at a school clinic that is not very useful. I'm with him because he's really cheap--it's a school clinic so it's $1 per session. So here it's $5 per day, which sounds fine, but it sounds like you're charged $150 a month, which is like assuming every day is a session. Is that the only option? You can't just interact on one day a week or something? I understand therapists have to eat, I'm not trying to sound entitled, it's just that I'm quickly going broke (that's how I got the $1 rate at the school clinic, technically the lowest they're supposed to go is actually $5). I'm not even sure how I will be notified of responses to this thread. Anyway, I'm an unemployed person who got a doctorate in history, hates history, hates academia, trying to find jobs, feeling really unmotivated and tired most of the time, early thirties (took a really long time to get my degree because it felt like such a chore), anxious/fearful personality, I don't seem to be qualified to do anything other than be an academic historian, etc. Thanks guys.
Hey I'm Lea and I'm 21. I've been struggling feeling depressed for a while now since school. I've improved a lot but I still struggle with some of the same issues. I'm probably in what you would call a rut in your life and nothing seems to have gone right for me. Depression and isolating myself has completely turned my life upside down.
