Hello there! Welcome newbie! Don't feel embarassed for that! Us volunteers CHOSE (with our free will) to volunteer here, so no you would not be bothering us at all with our issues!
That's great to hear that you are interested in becoming a listener! I definitely recommend you join! Not only does it give you something to do during your spare time, it allows you develop active listening skills and empathy. If you complete the 7 Cups internship, you could even use your experience on your resume. Work places for sure value skills such as active listening, empathy, and relationship building. :)
