Hi. My name is Julie. I am hoping that I can support others here and also get some support. I have had depression and anxiety for 6 years. More recently my anxiety is getting the better of me.

There are a lot of things going wrong for me but the one I am most anxious about is my eldest son. He has learning disabilities and epilepsy. He had a seizure 10 days ago and fell awkwardly. After a CT Scan it was discovered that he has fractured a vertebrae in his neck. He is currently in a specialist unit in hospital awaiting a neck brace to be custom made.

My worry just wont stop even though the hospital is well equipped to make sure he gets what he needs to aid recovery. I have gone back to work but my concentration is appalling. It is illogical thinking on my part and try as I might I keep turning things over in my head and I dont know how to stop. Please can anyone offer me just a little support. The hospital are positive so why cant I be. It's just a horrid place to be. Possibly made worse by the fact that I cant get to see him. So I'm relying solely on what the hospital tell me. Ge lives in supported living with 24 hour care. Any advice just so I know I'm not going crazy and that someone understands. Thank you

@Mumof561 sending love Julie. It's totally normal to worry about your kids even when the outlook is positive. Dont beat yourself up. You can take a break from worrying. It helps no one and makes you feel awful. Speaking from experience, worrying is a habit and it can be broken! Start with gratitude for small comforts and victories.

★ How are you doing?

I was really freaked out today by all the emotions flying around me all day. Since doing a bit of mindful exercises and finding this website I am finally calming down.
★ What are you looking forward to this new year?

Peace of mind? I have been so stressed and freaked out over the last few months I haven't even been able to think about it...
★ How did you hear about 7 Cups of Tea?

A tumblr post on my pinterest feed.

I don't know what to expect from this site as I just stumbled upon it. So I'm just going to keep looking around for the time being... But it does look like a peaceful place.

Hello 7cups.

I'm doing ok, I'm relieved to discover over the last few months that how I have been buying my emotions for all of my life is pretty normal to my situation & reversible with some effort.

2020 for me is about finding out who I am, reclaiming my emotions & breaking a trauma bond or two.

I found 7 cups on Google while Googling how to do the above!

Look forward to chatting to some of you..

Steve

Hello, I am a 45 year old married mom of two girls, ages 19 and 21. I currently feel very isolated, I don't really have anyone to talk to, any friends who I can talk to about heart things.my husband and my daughter both suffer from mental health issues, my daughter is on medication for depression and social anxiety, my husband refuses to go to therapy. I tend to be the one that is the support in our household. My family is my world but unfortunately I carry my world on my shoulders. It's a very heavy load. To them I appear very strong, but in reality, I just simply push down my needs, my feelings, so that they don't know how things affect me. I really don't know anything about 7 cups, all I know is I need something. I hope that I can find that something at 7 cups.

@Inhiskeep

Hello, I'm new here too. No, you indeed can not carry the world on your shoulders. There are many activities on this site you can do to work through your emotions that don't require human interaction at all. I'm sorry to hear about what's going on with your husband. I can only imagine how frustrating and lonely it all feels. There are definitely helpful people here like you and me that volunteer their time as listeners. If you prefer talking in groups with other members there are those chats and these forums. And there is also the option of paying professional therapists. Take your time, look around the site and try some things out and see what works for you. All the best .

hi everyone.

im mj and i have been struggling with depression and self-harm since i was 12 and i will be turning 16 this year. my parents saw some scars on my arm (when i had unsuccessfully tried to commit suicide or at least suffer from blood loss) in december 2018, but havent taken any actions to help me about it.

my father drinks a ton and whenever hes drunk he becomes verbally abusive and aggressive. my mother is an ok lady, but she has a very short fuse and a sharp tongue, which lead her to tell me to keep on mutilating myself into tiny little pieces and that she will personally give me the biggest knife she could find.

at school i am expected to do well and will be sitting for my igcses in may/june this year. the pressure from my parents is increasingly difficult and it gets harder and harder to resist the urge to self harm. i have a fairly nice group of friends but i dont really feel like i can trust someone enough to properly open up without putting my clean reputation on the line.

for fun i write songs, taught myself the piano and sing. a lot. i also read tons of ya fiction.

i think (and have been told) that im a really good listener, so feel free to hit me up! and my time zone is gmt +8 just in case you're wondering why i havent replied. i will also be deleting this app from my phone every now and then in an attempt to hide this from my overbearing parents.

thank you ♡

Hey everyone,

I'm a student in my last year of university, and I've been living with bouts of depression, anxiety, and drastic mood swings from PMDD for about 6 years now. I've attended a few university counseling group sessions in the past years, and I'm considering going again but I haven't really liked what they've told me so I'm trying something new. The goal is to be able to afford real therapy, but I am a student with financial worries sooo...yup.

If any of yall are also in school, I'd appreciate some tips on boosting confidence. I need to believe in myself before I have to do job interviews, and the clock is ticking.

Short story: lack of sufficient self confidence is degrading my self confidence. YEET.
