@Tazzie
Hello! I joined 7 cups a couple of days ago. I came across it searching on Google looking for places to find friends or just someone to talk to. I have Social Anxiety and no friends. I am trying to find a job right now. I want so desperately to get out of my living situation and move to Ohio to be with the love of my life where I truly belong. I feel that deep down. We have been in an ldr for about 7 years now. He has high functioning Autism. We just clicked and I've never felt this way about anyone before. I've unfortunately and embarrassingly never had a job before but I have tried to find one everywhere I have lived. Yesterday morning I woke up to a voicemail from a place I applied to asking if I was still interested and if I wanted to schedule an interview. I froze. This is the first time anyone has called me back and I have only had 1 interview before that I royally screwed up thanks to my anxiety. I didn't know what to do. I don't how to push through my anxiety and get through an interview and hopefully get a job. I need one desperately. I need to get out of my living situation. I get put down and called names among other things. Other than that I'm 31 I love animals, books, drawing, writing, photography, unicorns, NCIS LA, Supergirl, Manifest, Ghost Adventures, Once Upon A Time, House, JAG, most music, strawberry yogurt pretzels. I love coffee especially iced coffee but I love hot chocolate too especially around the holidays. My favorite holiday is Halloween.

Hi! Have you scheduled an interview?
Have you learned any relaxation techniques previously? Can you practice some before the interview? :)
Hi everyone! You can call me aldit.
I'm doing well today, the sun is shining so I'm trying to as well.
Always hot chocolate.
I heard about 7 cups through my friends.
If anyone wants a chat, I'm always down for that :)
Hi all!
i joined 7 cups because I am dealing with a lot of physical and emotional issues. A lot of my issues come from my childhood. I grew up in an abusive family environment (sister: physically. Brother: sexually and physically. And mother: emotional neglect). I have never had anyone who I can count on, so I learned to deal with things on my own. I didnt know what real healthy love was. I had to compete with my mothers love with my brother and sister and I was usually the one who got the leftovers as my brother and sister needed my mother more and I could take care of myself. The love I was shown by some male family members and friends was because of my physical appearance. It was very uncomfortable for me. My mother saw the attention I got and started buying me very ugly clothes to wear in the belief I would get as much unwanted attention. Well, I certainly got more negative attention (being ridiculed, hit by other kids for being retarded)
I married and moved out of the country I was born/grew up 32 years ago, thinking I would find a better life abroad with a great husband. Unfortunately, I wasnt prepared for the culture shock, homesickness and being expected to behave/react like everyone else in my husbands family. (cool, distanced and non-emotional). When I married my husband he was wonderful, romantic, loving and emotional. As soon as we moved to his country, he became as distant and cool as his family and friends. It was a big adjustment for me and I was constantly being corrected for not fitting in with everyone else. I made no real friends and went back to being there for myself. It was a lonely life, but I wanted to please everyone so I kept trying and not complaining. We had 2 beautiful daughters and when the younger one was about 5 I became seeriously ill, but no doctor would take me seriously. It took 12 months before they finally believed me that I had a tumor in my throat/neck. It started out the size of a pea when I discovered it. By the time I was operated on, it was the size of a grapefruit. It had consumed half my thyroid, was pressing against my caroted artery and was slowly choking me. After the operation my endocrinologist assumed my GP would put me on medication, my GP assumed my endocrinologist would. As a result I was not on thyroid medication for over 3 months and it caused serious mental and physical problems. I felt I was a danger to my children so I went out of the country to get help. No one in this country would help me. I found a place where I could physically and mentally recover. My husband was not pleased that I was ill and instead of getting me help, he packed my things and put them in front of the door while I was getting help. He told his parents I was having an affair so he kicked me out and told my kids I left them because I didnt love or want them.
After I recovered enough to come back to my children, I had to start my life over again from square 1. My ex-husband tried to get me declared unfit to be a mother so he could get full custody of my kids. When that didnt work, he found a way to convince the court I had abandoned my family, so I lost my kids and Because of what they had been told, they resented me and believed what they were told about me. It took me a long time to re-establish a relationship with my kids and There has always been some underlying unspoken tension that they did not want to discuss or resolve. I do have regular contact with one daughter and irregular with the other. I try to accept the fact that we will probably never be as close as I would like, but I am happy to be able to see them and my grandbabies.
14 years ago, I met a man while I was trying to build a new life for myself. He was so good to me, was a tremendous emotional support and helped me regain some self-worth. For 2 years we had a wonderful loving relationship and I had managed to start a new career and become a person again. Then I married this wonderful man and on our wedding night he suddenly changed into a cool, distanced person whose idea of being romantic was a 5 minute sex session. For many years I gave myself fault for him not being able to show me love (unless he was in the mood) because I was obviously not loveable. When I needed a little affection or support or someone just to be there for me, he always had an excuse why he couldnt. I gave him what he wanted and he was happy and I was miserable. I tried for many years to make things better between us. Finally, I could not make myself service him anymore and told him he needed to win my heart again after years of being ignored. He told me many times he loved me, but just didnt show it so I felt it. The words appeared empty. He has ignored me and hurt me emotionally many times (unintentionally of course). After we would have a terrible loud argument, he would be nice and loving to me for 1-2 days, then he would go back to ignoring me. He always claims he cant show love because of his childhood of not feeling love. I tried to teach him how beautiful love and emotions can be, but I need more than 1-2 days every month or so. I dont want to give up on my marriage, as I know what a good person he was before we married. I continue to try to believe in him because he keeps telling me he will try harder. That is where we are now. He is trying harder to be more loving and supportive and not be ruled by only his needs.
I dont have any real friends who I can talk to or count on. I have a lot of people who I support, listen to, help (which I really do enjoy doing! ), but it gets lonely sometimes when I want someone to lean on and I turn around and I am on my own. I am hoping through this site to keep on helping myself through the self-help tips and also take advantage of the opportunity to be able to talk to someone and have them just listen. I just want to be listened to once in a while when all the weight of the world is on my shoulders.
Thank you for reading.
Hi! Im Blue4Roses. I found 7 Cups about 2 years ago but finally created a profile a few days ago. Im a 20-something with social anxiety, agoraphobic tendencies, a chronic illness (GERD/hiatal hernia), and likely generalized anxiety. Laying it all out in the open. 😂
Im hoping 7 Cups can be part of my support system as I look for a new counselor/therapist and try to get back into a mental health/wellness routine. I spent 6-8 months hiding from the world, but Ive made some progress and am trying to continue building on that momentum. I know where I want to go, I just have to get there and be accepting of support along the way. Im trying to find a second part-time job and save up for grad school while training/volunteering. I hope to become a Master of Social Work with a focus on mental health. Go figure. 😂
If anyone cares, Im a bookworm, Ravenclaw, INFJ, Enneagram 4, and Aquarius. My favorite musical genre, among many, is New Wave.
I hope to grow and learn with you all. 😊
(PS: If it takes me a while to respond, Im shy and dont have notifications turned on. Im usually more of a listener than a talker.)

Heya, @alwaysamoonchild
Welcome to 7cups, we're pleased to see you have joined and hope you can have an incredible experience!
Take care.
It's my first day on 7 cups. A friend recommended it. I'm shy and have trouble getting the words out in person so this might be good for me. I'm hoping to be happier in general with a little help here. My depression and lack of self worth are causing problems in my relationship.
Hey there, @exuberantThinker106
Welcome to 7cups, it's awesome to see you have joined! Its okay to be shy - take as much time as you need. I'm sorry to hear that your depresion and lack of self worth is really effecting your relationship at the moment. I hope things get easier for you. We hope you can have the best experience possible!
Take care.
