@Tazzie
Hello everybody !
I'm a new listener since sunday.
I was spending my time on internet, and it was so boring, useless, meaningless. So I googled "how to spent time usefully on internet", and found out about this community. Listening to people, giving them time, hearing, compassion, helping to put the right words on the injuries as a step of healing ... it echoed deeply in me, so I wanted to give it a try immediately.
I hope to become a good listener, and make the world a greater place to live.
Hi there, @MimiEcouteAuCoinDuFeu
Welcome to 7cups, we're pleased to see you have joined! Awh, it's really lovley to know that you're willing to give your own time to others, providing them with the support deserved. We appreciate you and all you do for the community. I'm sure you will continue to grow and grow as a listener and know we're all here to help support you through your journey along the way, too. We wish you the very best and hope you can have an incredible experience.
Take care!
I used to be a 7cups member a while ago, and I'm still not sure how I feel about it. I just never found much personal help or connection here. But I wanted to try again because I've been feeling so alone, almost like I'm drowning. I need to learn to accept help when it comes and, more importantly, to ask for it. It's taken such a long time to accept that I can't do everything on my own. I'm still working on embracing that, so here I am.
@moonrake
I hope you find what you're looking for this time around. It definitely is important to ask for help when yolu need it and i know it can be hard at times but good for you for not giving up and giving it a second chance. I hope your expdrience now with the site is different from your first one. Good luck
Heya, @moonrake
Welcome back to 7cups! Take as much time as you need to adjust to being here and know you're always welcome to ask questions or portray your concerns if need be - we're here to help you navigate.
I'm sorry to hear that you've been feeling so alone recently, as if you're drowning. I can understand how challenging things must be for you but I'm proud of you for recognising that maybe you need to actually learn to accept that there is help out there and that it is okay to ask for it. You show a lot of resilience in pointing out what you know you need to work on and striding to do so, even when it is a difficult process. We're all here for you along the way!
Take care.
@Tazzie
❑ How are you doing?
I'm not going to lie, I'm in a pretty bad place in my mind right now.
❑ What are you looking forward to?
Learning how to get better and not feel like I have to be strong and face everything alone. Better coping skills as well would be wonderful.
❑ How did you hear about 7 Cups of Tea?
I'm pretty sure I heard of it from a YouTuber, I'm not quite sure, I've known about it for a while and just now got to a place where I can admit I need help.
Hello, @sincerelybubbles
Welcome to 7cups, we're pleased to see you have joined! I'm sorry to hear that you're not really in a good place at the moment. I hope you're feeling better soon. Awh, I like that you are looking forward to feeling better - it shows me you do have hope and I too, hope you can find better ways of coping. Oooh cool, no worries but either way, I'm proud of you for deciding to join here where I hope you can get the support you deserve. We're all here for you!
Take care.
@Ottie
<3 <3 thank you :)
Hello, thanks for having me
To get straight to the point, I'm here because I'm lonely. Many people say they "have no friends" in jest, but I literally have no friends, online or otherwise. I'm on the brink of lapsing back into depression and all I really need is someone to talk to.
I'm 16 by the way. I can't say I'm passionate about anything anymore, but I'm trying to get back into drawing and I'm planning out a webcomic. I like to read novels and manga sometimes. My social anxiety is terrible, and the main reason for my lack of a social life, but I'm hoping that opening up online will make conversations easier in person. If you'd like to talk (any topic is fine with me), feel free to drop by any time
Hey there, @Weedkiller

I can understand how difficult things must be for you at the moment, especially when feeling as though you're close to lapsing back into depression - I hope you're feeling better soon and that can be avoided. Oooh, although you're not passionate about antyhing, I'm proud of you for thinking about it and realising that you do want to get back into drawing. A webcomic sounds so cool too!
I too, hope that being here can help imrpove your social life and maybe deflect your social anxiety. We're all here for you and wish you the very best.
Take care!
@Ottie Thank you

Hi everyone, I am Kerry I am 43 , have 2 adult children, son is 26,. daughter is 20, son has had issues in past but he is doing well since he met a good woman who he lives with, my daughter lives at home with me she is a sensible girl mostly,, I took on my son's 3 year old daughter recently and I am special guardian, I am single and as much as I love her and don't regret for a moment she is with me and I will never give up on her, i do feel isolated and alone as my daughter out living her life as she should be,, lately my granddaughter behaviour has been awful,,terrible threes,, and i have researched online for parenting advice and support and i found this website. Pleased I did xx
@Gaia1976
Welcome! That is so sweet of you to take on your graddaughter and help :) I know there are parenting subcommunities here so i hope you can find what you need, also there should be listeners "specializing" in these issues too. I'm pretty new here myself so i'm still finding my way around but i noticed a forum yesterday where people were describing what they needed help with and asking for listeners who can help to reach out, perhaps that would be helpful to find a listener who might have first-hand experience with parenting :)
@AlwaysRedeemable
Thankyou for your message, I have just joined the parenting community and posted a thread. Still learning my way around the site but I am getting there.
Hello, @Gaia1976
Welcome to 7cups, it's lovely to meet you, Kerry and we're pleased to see you have joined! I'm glad your son is doing well recently. It's seems really sweet of you to be this special guardian for your son's young daughter too - thank you for sharing this with us.
I'm sorry you've been feeling isolted and alone as of recent events with your grandaughter reaching a stage of misbehaviour. Although, I'm proud of you for deciding to research into ways you can get support for these times. We wish you the best.
Take care!
@Ottie
Thankyou, I researching how to respond to her behaviour because i am aware that at times my response is maminmher behaviour worse, I can't change her behaviour without first changing my response to it, it's very hard but I need to be the best I can for her as she has had enough crap in her life bless her, her mum has disappeared and that's a lot for anyone to deal with let alone a 3 yr old who doesn't understand
Aw, I hear you. Acknowledging that you can't change her behaviour but to reflect and improve on your own response to her sounds like such a resonable thing to do. I hope you know you're already such an incredible grandparent deciding to take her on and be her guardian in the first place. It does seem she has been through a lot already at such a young age but I believe you're going to be such a help for her and wish you all well. @Gaia1976
I've had this app for months now, and I never introduced myself. Now I'm taking that first step. Hey guys!
A long story short, I've lost track of who I am behind the mask I call me. I've forgotten how to be vulnerable, to speak my mind and be heard, and to not take the smallest things to the biggest scale
My relationship is really falling apart because I don't think I ever showed who I really was. I need to find who I am and find out if the real me is the me he fell in love with. It's terrifying, I'm terrified, even about writing this message. Hopefully this will be a step to breaking off this mask and being who I really should be.
Hey @Saywhatjpg welcome!
I'm glad you took that step, it is terrifying but you are very brave for making the move. I hope you find hat you are looking for here and i hope it helps. Know that you are supported :)
Hi there, @Saywhatjpg
Welcome to the forums! I'm super proud of you for deciding that now is a good time to introduce yourself to the community and take that step to venture into the forums! It seems things are quite challenging for you at the moment; not being able keep track of who you really are, behind the mask. You deserve to speak up about what you're going through and be heard - it may be hard for you right now, but I hope things get easier real soon.
With your relationship falling apart due to the fact you don't feel you've shown who you really are much, I can understand why you'd be feeling terrified to search for who that really is. It must be pressurising too. We're all here for you, take as much time as you need working on finding your true self. We wish you the very best.
Take care!

@Tazzie
Hello! I just joined for two reasons. First off because I love to help people and have meaningful conversation. The other reason is because my college class has a requirement of volunteer work. Since I'm a sahm with literally no family within an hours drive I don't have anyone to watch my kiddos so I could actually get out of the house to volunteer so this is the perfect opportunity for me. I'm trying to get into the internship program here on 7cups. Does anyone else have experience with it?
@optimisticPineapple2912
Welcome! That's cool that volunteering at 7 cups works out with your schedule
I haven't tried the internship yet but I am also interested. They announced an internship AMA on September 12th, you should sign up if you haven't alrrady and you can post any questions you have about the program
