Um, hi
I was diagnosed with DID in 2004. I used to see a really nice therapist for years, but in 2009 the gov program that funded it stopped and so I was no longer able to see her. Really sucked, I haven't had anyone to really talk to about all of, me, since then. There are seven of us. I cope ok, I manage my life alright, I get by day to day. But it'd be nice to have someone to talk to, outside myself, that actually listens. My mom thinks it's all ***, even though she's bipolar and she's seen the diagnosis, *** she even talked to my therapist a few times back when I had one. My husband is Aspergers and has his own struggles. Neither of them are good at listening, or understanding. I'm not sure what I'm doing here. Reaching out I guess, for, something? I don't know. I'm trying to find another therapist that doesn't cost too much.
@Darken Its really nice to meet you.
It can be very frustrating when you have a therapist that you are working really well with but can't continue seeing! It sounds like you've really struggled to connect with anyone since then. Despite this, you sound like you're coping okay, but I get that it would be really nice to have someone that you can talk to about all of you, that will really listen!
I'm not sure of which 7cups community would best meet your needs. You'll find lovely people in all of them and maybe being a part of multiple communities will help meet various needs you might have.
I'm not sure if this would be helpful to you, but if you would like, I would be happy for you to send me a message and we could have a chat? My experience with DID is limited, but I'm really open to meeting you, and your parts, and to do my best to support you as a listener.
If you'd like this, you're welcome to send me a message. and i'm sure there would be plenty of other listeners out there who could meet your needs also.
Thank you for reaching out!
