Hello all,

I am a young woman who was born premature and has a heart defect and genetic disorder. I have a heart shaped or split uterus and fibroids and I will be having a hysterectomy next year. I know it will be challenging for me to see women with babies and kids for a bit. Any advice?

@gentleMoon987

I'm so sorry you have to go through that.

So young.

It's alot to process.

Please be gentle with yourself.

It's ok to process at your own pace.

You will experience alot of mixed emotions but it's important to not struggle alone 💕💜

@gentleMoon987 if birthing a child of your own was your dream, it can definitely be difficult to go through it. Time is the best medicine, but in the meantime, focus on getting better and taking good care of yourself. There are many ways to be a mother, to give and receive that unconditional love, and you can consider one of those ways once you've processed everything that happened. Until then, keeping mind that everything you're doing, you're doing to get better, and once your health will be better you'll have so much more time and energy to dedicate to loving others - as a parents, or in any other way that life will suggest you.

@gentleMoon987 this sounds so tough. I wish you best for your surgery. my mother had a vaginal hysterectomy a month back. there was some complication - she required blood donation - but it went well. please look carefully into the options that are best for you- these days everyone is choosing laproscopy over abdominal hysterectomy as its safer. please check with your doctor.

i totally feel you on the part about not having babies. im 38 and when i took some fertility tests recently they indicated my egg reserve was low. that made me realise i may not experience motherhood as id like to. i dont know yet. but...

ive always wanted to adopt. motherhood isnt just about genetic connection - although carrying a child in your womb has a lot of love quotient involved. i see the community also as a spiritual family. i dont doubt my ability to love an adopted child any less than a biological one.

thats just me. i hope you can look within and see where your heart belongs.

i hope you have a fulfilling healthy life whether or not you embrace motherhood in any form. you are a beautiful human being and there is a special destiny uniquely forged for you.

keep us posted on how things go <3

@gentleMoon987Thank you for sharing your story. Facing a hysterectomy and the emotions that come with it is deeply challenging. It’s natural to feel a mix of grief, loss, and even frustration when seeing others with babies or kids. Allow yourself to feel those emotions without judgment—they’re valid. Surround yourself with supportive people who understand and listen. Finding ways to focus on your own journey, passions, and healing can help shift your focus over time. Remember, your worth is not defined by motherhood. Take it one day at a time, and be gentle with yourself.

@gentleMoon987 hold on, I know it's tough but you're doing everything you can to go through this and take care of yourself. Give yourself some grace and don't hesitate to ask for support if you're feeling overwhelmed and need help with anything. Best of luck for the upcoming surgery and recovery! You can make it!
