Good time zone, Ladies!

Here is another question for you all to answer with your own perspectives and personal thoughts!

Question: What are your thoughts on the delegation of chores? What does delegation mean to you? How do you provide structure to it?

@InsightfulPhoenix

I believe in doing the delegating 😂😂😂

Ha, I believe that chores should be equally divided but within each relationship, each person has different hours of work, different responsibilities and whatever works for both, is fine with me.

Just watch out for that brush flying if anyone tells me I need to do something 😂😂😂😂🩷

@InsightfulPhoenix I don't usually call it "delegation", but rather "distribution". The word delegation implies that the task is my responsibility and I'm asking for someone's help, but the responsibility belongs to all people who share a house, no one is "helping" and everyone is simply doing their part.
Distribution doesn't have a universal rule, every family or couple does it according to their own time schedules and skills, 50-50 would be ideal but it's ok for someone to contribute a bit more if they have more time off work, or if someone is not having a good day or whatever.
It's important to have clear conversations about it, maybe even draw out a plan if needed, so that no one is overloaded.

I think this will look different for each relationship! I think the most important thing is to have a honest conversation about what feels right and fair to each person in the relationship. This may be 50-50 or it may not!

In my relationship, there are certain tasks that we agree each of us will do 100% of the time. For other things, we keep a chore list with daily, weekly, and monthly tasks! This helps us to keep things organized and know what needs to be done amongst our very busy schedules. 😊

This is an excellent concept to reflect on, because yes every relationship is different. However, I agree it's not always going to be 50-50!
