PMDD
It’s a strange feeling to have this so young. And to go through this every month.
No one really wants to see this as a real issue (at least the people I'm around)
I’d told my dad and my sister and they said “Ugh oh lord, that's not a real thing”
My mom calls it my “ weird period disorder”
And my boyfriend struggles to understand me and how to work with me.
@makemefeelokay I'm really sorry to hear that you're feeling this way and that your experience isn’t being taken seriously by those around you. It sounds incredibly isolating and frustrating to deal with something that feels so real and significant, only to have it dismissed or misunderstood by the people closest to you.
It’s hard to deal with or cope with. A lot of times I wanna give up. If i didn’t have my boyfriend trying to understand me i don’t think I could do it by myself. But when I am by myself I get completely hopeless, feel worthless, have an identity crisis and i just want to d!e. The way you feel when have PMDD is so miserable. A lot of women who have PMDD end up k!lling their selves cause it’s too much to deal with. And I’ve attempted as well. Having PMDD is horrible it’s almost unexplainable how it feels to have it. I can’t find anything to compare it to. But it’s like one day everything is good and once you're about to start your period(which starts about 2 weeks before I start my period) it’s like a huge dark cloud comes over you and everything is wrong and it comes out of nowhere sometimes too. A lot of times it’s so bad that you physically get sick. It’s not easy to deal with at all. The only way I can help it a little bit is by getting on serotonin pills (aka antidepressants) but i don’t wanna get on any medication and my family doesn’t want me to either.
I do write poetry and write and sing songs to somewhat make me feel better but it only makes me dwell in it more.
It's torture.
