Why is this happening?
So, I am 15 years old. I haven't had my period since April 6th. I've always gotten it that week of every month since I started at 13. I told my psychiatrist when I was at IOP and she told my mom to take me to the pediatrician. So, I went that week. They made me do a pregnancy test, even though I'm a virgin(remember that, it's a very important detail, I haven't had any intercourse or anything ever), and that was negative. They sent in labs for me to get the next day. I got those done, and everything was normal. Then, two days later, I had a sharp stabbing pain near my left ovary, it felt like a sword going through me. My mom took me to the ER and they hooked me up, got more labs done, gave me pain medicine, took yet another pregnancy test, also negative, and then told me they were going to give me fluids so my bladder was full so they could do an ultrasound. So, after about 2 bags of fluids, my bladder was full, and they took me back. My ultrasound came back normal. There was no signs of ovarian torsion, no tumor, no mass, no baby, and nothing abnormal. So, they sent me home and my pediatrician was updated and they told me that if it doesn't come back by the second week in August, to go back in. Spoiler alert: I still haven't gotten it and there's only a month left until I go back if it doesn't come back. Sure April and May was stressful, I was in the hospital but I wasn't really stressed.
@brenbird
😔
That sounds stressful 💛
I hope they get to the bottom of things, to give you the right answers, support and care that you need 💛
@brenbird There atmre so many things that can impact menstrual cycles and I wouldn't be surprised if research has even discovered all the different interactions.
You have posted to the ED community, it's possible it's related either mental stress or your blood glucose not being stable or malnutrition or it could be something entirely else.
I think it's pretty common at some point for people to have something throw off their cycles.
You have some good news in that some of major concerns have been ruled out. I hope the pain stops and things get back to normal for you soon!
@AffyAvo
I haven't been diagnosed with an Ed and I eat like no more than 2 meals a day and sometimes less it js depends on the day yk and I js want it to come back so I can be normal again
@brenbird For some girls and women their menstrual cycles are easily affected by diet whereas for others it takes a much more drastic change in diet to cause a change.
I'm not saying it is an ED affecting you, just a possibility I noticed from a fairly recent thread.
I hope your medical team is able to help!
