Food Closet in Sacramento, CA, is a vital resource dedicated to offering food assistance to low and no-income families and individuals facing food insecurity. Operated by the South Sacramento Interfaith Partnership (SSIP), our pantry distributes both donated and purchased food, ensuring that our community members can access nutritious meals to meet their basic dietary needs. During the Covid-19 pandemic, we have expanded our services to welcome anyone in need, eliminating the previous residency requirement for south Sacramento ZIP codes. Each household may receive packaged food once a month, reflecting our commitment to providing consistent and compassionate support to those who require emergency food assistance.
