Located near San Diego's Balboa Park, this Short-Term Acute Residential Treatment (START) program serves individuals 18 and older who need intensive support but can benefit from a less restrictive environment than a hospital setting. The center welcomes clients with co-occurring substance use disorders, though the primary focus remains on mental health stabilization. Most residents stay approximately nine days while receiving comprehensive care. The center's services include thorough psychiatric evaluations, medication management, individual and group counseling sessions, practical life skills training, and integrated substance use treatment when needed.
