Meals on Wheels in Old Saybrook, CT, proudly serves the medically homebound seniors of Middlesex, Tolland, and Hartford counties by providing essential food assistance through home-delivered healthy lunches. Our dedicated program not only focuses on delivering nutritious meals but also includes volunteer check-ins to ensure our clients' well-being and offers accommodations for special dietary needs. While we suggest a $3.00 donation per meal to offset costs, we believe that no senior should go hungry, so we never deny meal service due to inability to pay. Referrals are welcomed from healthcare providers, hospitals, visiting nurse associations, and local social service departments. To initiate service, an interview or home visit will be conducted to assess the individual’s needs, allowing us to start meal deliveries within two days of approval.
