Located in Ellendale, Delaware, the Cape Henlopen Food Basket (CHFB) is dedicated to providing emergency food assistance to individuals and families within the Cape Henlopen School District boundaries. We believe that no one should go hungry, which is why we ensure that every client receives a generous 10-day supply of canned and frozen food, along with a supermarket voucher for fresh items like milk, eggs, margarine, and bread. Our mission prioritizes accessibility—there are no evaluations of need; everyone is welcome to receive food support. If a person requires assistance more than three times within three months, we connect them with Delaware State Social Services for further evaluation and potential additional support. Please note that CHFB follows the closure schedule of the Cape Henlopen School District during inclement weather. We are here to help, ensuring that our community has the resources needed to thrive during difficult times.
