Senior Food Box Program

Hawaii Foodbank Honolulu, HI

About Senior Food Box Program

The Senior Food Box Program, also known as the Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP), is dedicated to serving low-income kūpuna in Honolulu, HI, by providing a monthly box of nutritious USDA food designed to alleviate senior hunger and improve overall health. This essential food assistance program plays a vital role in supporting the well-being of our elderly population, helping them avoid potential health complications and costly medical interventions. Each senior food box is thoughtfully curated to supplement vital nutrients, making a significant difference in the lives of those who face food insecurity. To participate, individuals can download and submit an application to the Hawaii Foodbank, allowing them to receive CSFP benefits at designated distribution sites. Due to the high demand for these boxes, all distribution locations currently operate with wait lists. Applicants are prioritized based on the order of their application submissions, and while on the wait list, availability of boxes is not guaranteed each month. However, extra boxes are allocated at the end of each distribution to clients on the wait list as supplies allow.
