Friends & Neighbors Networks (FANNs) is a vibrant co-op based in Portland, ME, dedicated to providing essential food assistance to residents in need. Through our member-driven model, we ensure that every participant contributes to the community by paying a modest yearly membership fee and a small fee for each meeting. Our dedicated members play an active role in the process, from unloading and sorting food deliveries provided by our partner, The Root Cellar, to distributing nutritious boxes filled with fresh produce, dairy, frozen meats, and essential household items. We meet bi-weekly to foster connections and support among members while responding to the unique needs of our community by allowing requests for specific items. At FANNs, we believe that together we can address food insecurity and empower our neighbors with both resources and camaraderie.
