Maine Harvest Bucks (MHB) works diligently to improve access to fresh, local produce for low-income families in Portland, ME, through its nutrition incentive program. As a part of the Maine Federation of Farmers’ Markets, MHB encourages healthier eating by offering valuable bonuses of $5 for every $10 spent using SNAP/EBT at participating farmers’ markets, CSA farms, and farm stands. This initiative not only provides essential financial assistance for food but also fosters connections between the community and local agriculture, enabling participants to immediately use or save their earned Bucks for future purchases. By supporting MHB, you are helping ensure that nutritious food is accessible to all families in our vibrant community.
