About Maine Senior FarmShare Program

The Maine Senior FarmShare Program is dedicated to enhancing the health and well-being of income-eligible older adults in Portland, ME, by providing access to fresh, local produce at no cost. Through our program, seniors receive a share valued at $50 directly from local farmers during the growing season, connecting them with nutritious food and supporting Maine's agricultural community. Each year, interested participants can sign up directly with participating farmers starting in April. While shares are limited and distributed on a first-come, first-served basis, our mission is to ensure that seniors can enjoy the benefits of local food and maintain their vitality through accessible food assistance.
