About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship
The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship, based in Cottage Grove, OR, empowers passionate individuals to champion a food system that prioritizes social, environmental, and economic justice. Designed to be accessible, the Fellowship does not charge tuition, ensuring that dedicated participants can engage without financial barriers. Through comprehensive training and hands-on experience, Fellows immerse themselves in organic food system education, working on innovative projects such as cultivating diversified crops, implementing health-centric educational initiatives, and managing community and school gardens. Participants also learn to integrate food and ecological literacy into various settings, promote local farmers markets, and enhance distribution channels for healthier food access. After six months of experiential learning at the Allegheny Farm Campus, Fellows participate in a Community Action Year, collaborating with regional non-profit organizations to apply their skills. Applications are accepted until March each year, with the program running from May to October.
