Why do I feel sad/depressed even when everything in my life is going good the way I wanted it to? Or is it because I'm just overthinking and making up things

Hey! Depression is in my opinion never caused by outside circumstances but always by our own inner thought processes. Ofcourse the outside circumstances can put a heavy weight on our ego which makes it more difficult to regulate the inner thought processes correctly. But what I mean to say because the outside circumstances are allright that doesn't mean that you have learned the skills to regulate those inner thought processes in a way that makes you able to deal with life in a non depressed way. You could talk to a therapist to develop skills for that. Or could look in the method 'The work' of Byron Katie to develop skills concerning that (lots of information on that on Youtube and the rest of the internet) You first take a statement that you want to investigate. 1.Than you ask yourself if it's true (if not go to question 3). 2.Can you absolutely know that it's true 3.How do you react when you believe the thought 4.Who would you be without the thought? Good luck!
