Someone to Talk to About Not sleeping

Sleep is essential for mental and physical health, yet many people struggle with getting enough rest. Whether it’s insomnia, stress-related sleep disturbances, or disrupted sleep patterns, not sleeping well can leave you feeling exhausted, irritable, and unable to focus.

If you’re having trouble sleeping, know that you’re not alone. Sleep difficulties can be caused by anxiety, overthinking, lifestyle habits, or even underlying medical conditions. Finding ways to relax, establish a bedtime routine, and address the root causes of your sleep struggles can make a difference.

At 7 Cups, our listeners are here to offer support and share coping strategies. You deserve rest, and sometimes, simply talking about what’s keeping you up at night can bring relief and clarity.

For the past 17 years, I have been living with multiple chronic illnesses. I spent over a decade going to doctors every day of the week, becoming a pin cushion for every physician, an experiment, and nearly saw over 200 western, eastern, holistic, integrative healers, & followed endless protocols, surgeries, procedures, diets, and medications that wasted away my twenties and thirties. Eventually, I reached a point where I stopped the search for new doctors, and I entered a long journey of learning how to manage my conditions, care for my two children, and hold onto hope on the hardest days, without a roadmap or anyone who truly understood what I was facing. The life I never expected taught me more than I ever anticipated about resilience, self-advocacy, strength, motherhood and finding small ways to keep moving forward when your body does not cooperate. I have learned how to adapt, radical acceptance, being ok without having solutions, and how to hold space for uncertainty. These skills I carried quietly for years, not realizing they had real value for others going through the same. I hope to give others empathy, support, compassion, practical tools, and helpful ideas to get through the hardest of days and cherish the smallest of moments.  I want to become a Certified Recovery Support Practitioner because I believe the most powerful thing you can offer someone who is suffering is proof that survival is possible. I have lived through years of difficult days and continue to do so proudly, still growing, learning, raising two kids, & discovering how strong single moms actually can be.  My children are my WHY. I want them to see that the years I spend at home were not years lost, but were years of building the kind of wisdom and empathy that cannot come from a typical career or class. This certification is my way of turning lived experience into something meaningful, for myself, for my family, and for the people I hope to support.
