Low Drive or Asexual?

...See more I used to consider myself a fairly sexually active person. However, recently I have had no desire for any sexual interactions. I have been in a loving and committed relationship for several years now. We used to be more physically active earlier in our relationship. Even though we are still doing amazing, new milestones, we still have experienced a significant drop in sex. We have not had any sexual interactions in over a year now. Around that time I also had my first trip to the lady doctor and was left feeling violated and traumatized and did not want to be touched for a while after. Our relationship is great, I talked about my doctor experiences with my therapist, and I really do want to have sex. I just haven’t had any real desire to do so. I can’t tell if it’s a medical reason or if maybe I just am asexual and just not interested in it at all anymore. I’m not upset about not being active, my relationship is happy and healthy without it, it would just be fun to do some more. Any thoughts or similar experiences are greatly appreciated. Much love.

No Space to Recharge

...See more Since being in this pandemic I have noticed a lot of change within myself. Some good and bad. Overall I have been able to become much more self aware for which I am grateful. I’m starting to be able to read myself and interpret what my own needs are. I am a naturally independent and introverted person. I cherish my quality alone time, to have the time and space to reflect and let my brain enjoy peace. I enjoy being with loved ones of course but my body feels better after taking myself out of the public area and into my own space to recharge. Since the pandemic has started I have been unemployed and mainly confined to my home environment. I have a roommate and life with my long term partner as well. They are both great and I appreciate them both, but it has been easier for them to get on my nerves. They’re both extroverted people and feel best when around others and having spirited debates about who knows what. That works for them and that’s great. I just find that space to be draining for me. It’s over stimulating and just exhausting to me. I try to take naps and they will be talking 5 feet from my door. I have had to intervene a lot more and demand respect for my own space. I have to make a point of telling them to leave me alone and to go back to their own spaces. I’m an introvert surrounded by too much noise and too many people. I have not had the adequate space and time to fully recharge myself. I look with bright eyes to the future and hope we can establish a new normal soon and I am able to take back my own space.

...See more So I am in a long term relationship of several years now. We have lived together for almost two years and plan to move cross country soon. My partner wants to sit down and talk about our future goals together. I love everything we have now but I know what we want is a little different. They want to settle down and have kids. I want to keep chasing dreams and opportunities and I do not want children at all. I don’t know what this means for our future together but I also don’t want to risk anything we have right now.

...See more Since March of last year, due to the pandemic, I haven’t had a day to myself. I can only get a few hours at a time to have the house to myself. Even then, we have animals that require so more attention. I am just so exhausted at this point. I love the people I am with but I really do cherish my quiet and alone time as well.

...See more I’ve been with my partner for several years now and we used to have a more active sex life. The past couple years though we barely have sex at all. I don’t know if it the relationship, or if it my depression/PTSD, or corresponding medications. All in all though, I am not upset by it. Which feels odd to me too. I don’t mind not having sex at all but I wonder if that is an issue in itself.
