Hi, I’m new here — my username is RagingSolacePineapple.

My username means a lot to me because it reflects how I’ve felt inside—a mix of rage and chaos, alongside a deep desire for solace and strength. Like a pineapple, I want to stand strong and stay resilient through tough times. I am in the midst of healing from trauma as an adult.

You can call me Sol—like “soul.”

...See more 12:04 A Forum / Journals & Diaries Last Night in my 20's - 11:50 PM - 08/11 Today is my birthday, and it's a hard one. I'm coming out of trauma that I didn't even realize I was living through for years - trauma from family who was supposed to protect me but instead exposed me to harm. I'm feeling overwhelmed and deeply sad because the people I needed the most, especially my mom, weren't there in the way I needed. Instead of being protected, I was blamed and used as a scapegoat. There were people in my life who hurt me, and the adults around me knew but didn't stop it. I'm done carrying the silence and the shame that wasn't mine to bear. I've realized that the bond I wanted with my mom was never going to be what I needed. When I reached out, I was met with coldness, and that rejection cuts deeper than I can describe. I feel isolated, like I have no family support, and it's confusing and painful. Sometimes l've even questioned my own worth because of it. But today, on my birthday, I'm choosing to walk away from the poison and claim my own truth. my mom was never going to be what I needed. Seeing people's true faces down to relatives, so called friends and people that I built trauma bonds with that were not real it's a lot to take in but I'm not going to let it defeat me, this year will just be a different one, I can't celebrate it this year with an upcoming court date for l believe a possible illegal eviction because I was fighting for stability and my mental health and just thinking about being homeless at 30 with my registered emotional support dog is a lot to take in when I truly have no one at this point in my life. This year will just be different. I can’t really celebrate because I’m facing an upcoming court date for what I believe might be an illegal eviction. New here - Breaking the Cycle and Finding My Voice — Call Me Sol
Family & Caregivers / by RagingSolacePineapple

...See more Hi, I’m RagingSolacePineapple, but you can call me Sol (like “soul”). I’m 29 and coming out of years of trauma, and one of the hardest things I’ve had to face is realizing just how deep the damage runs in my family. I was raised by my grandmother—my mama figure—and while I know she did what she could, she also silenced me in painful ways. She tore pages out of my journal as a child. I think she knew how powerful my voice was even back then. Now that I’m older, I’m trying to understand—not to stay stuck in the past, but to move forward and finally break the cycle. My family has deep emotional and mental wounds, and I don’t want to keep carrying that forward. I’m in outpatient therapy and slowly learning what healthy relationships look like, not ones built on trauma. Music has always been my shield. It protected me through so much. Now, as I heal, I listen to those same songs and finally hear the weight of what I survived. I keep telling myself: none of this was my fault. I know I’m not the only one navigating family trauma. If you’ve been through something similar, how did you start to build a new identity outside of the roles your family put you in? Thanks for holding space. — Sol

Part 1: Outside of Healing

...See more Since starting this journey, I’ve returned to journaling for the first time since adolescence. It feels like reclaiming a lost part of myself. The painful part is that my grandma—my mama, the one who raised me—ripped pages out of my black composition notebook. I think she sensed how powerful my words could be. Now, as an adult, I’m trying to piece things together—not to rewind backwards, but to understand, so I can move forward. Spending time outside, connected to the sounds and rhythms of nature, helps me feel less dissociated and more present. Music has always been my shield because of my trauma. It has protected me in ways I didn’t fully realize before. Now, coming out of it and listening to those songs, I’m like “woowwwwwww.” But I keep telling myself none of this is my fault, coming out of it at the age of 29. I feel like I lost myself in the middle of my crisis. I quit my work-from-home job because accommodations weren’t being respected while I was also healing from domestic violence the year prior. Now, I’m facing eviction. Despite this, I’m taking the right steps to make things right and move forward. I’ve reached out to people I was once close to and apologized—letting them know I wasn’t fully aware before and that I don’t want to form trauma bonds anymore. I want to build healthy friendships now, and I’m learning what that truly means. During this transition, I’ve experienced something like a spiritual awakening. Right now, my feelings feel lost and scared, but I remind myself that my life isn’t over. For a while, I was self-destructing without even realizing it, and acknowledging that has been painful but necessary. I’m also realizing that my family is mentally messed up in ways I’m only just beginning to understand, and I deeply want to break that cycle—for my own well-being and for the future. I’ve faced some real challenges, like fighting for stable housing and feeling let down by communities I thought I could count on—but I’m hopeful about finding genuine connection here. Hi everyone, I’m RagingSolacePineapple, but you can call me Sol (like “soul”). I’m an adult healing from past trauma, and I joined 7 Cups to help myself feel less alone in the process. I’m currently in outpatient therapy, but between sessions I sometimes feel isolated or stuck in my head. I’m hoping to find a safe space here where I can share, listen, and make genuine friendships with people who understand what it’s like to be on a healing journey. Outside of healing, I enjoy journaling and spending time outside, connected to nature—it helps me feel grounded. Thanks for reading, and I’m looking forward to getting to know you all. — Sol
