Struggling as a student
Work & Career / by RavenCrossfire

...See more I am having problems but they aren’t my own. I am having financial problems that don’t seem to go away. I was working 2 jobs but they paid minimum wages so it was making close to nothing a week bc I was spending more then I could make. Spending on what well it’s for rent, car payments and groceries for my mom. I love to help out but it got to much and when I quit my jobs because I was going to school I had nothing saved. I am looking for work now but I am struggling finding a job. Maybe for student or entry level. I honestly just want a job that will help my problems go away but that’s asking for too much.

Weed addiction

...See more Weed was not something I liked at first but when I tried it, it created a “waking” that all my problems don’t matter and I am just a soul in a physical body. When I want to drift away from my problems I smoke and although this “habit” I guess isnt cheap it’s been the only thing that doesn’t give me a panic attack everytime I think about my problems. I have financial problems, relationships problems, family problems, and trying to find who I am problems that flash before my eyes when I wake up in the morning. I want to be somewhere else that’s what weed did for me at first but now it’s make me realize I just want to live in comfort and peace. I don’t want to be reminded that I have to be a strong role model and ever mess up as a sister, be a excellent and over achieving student, I don’t have to be a rich and successful first generation Latina daughter I just have to be me and live a life I wouldn’t regret. But everyday I am reminded I have to be better than myself. I try to find the answers in the smoke but it’s so pretty I get distracted then I only think about the good things in my life then I can’t think of anything else and ignore all my problems or anxiety’s. I want help but I am unsure where to start. I am not hopeless but can’t find a answer.

...See more My anunt and her son always fighting or argue about scheduling or what we are doing throughout the day. When I was there recently I mentioned to her son that I found the schedule of me coming over to her house a little confusing and he used it against her and told her that probably thinking I’ll back him up but I was silent. This happens quite a bit and I’m thinking of telling them if they don’t get their *** together then I don’t wanna come over anymore but my aunt son has a “disability” which I’m not sure what it is or means bc while he is medicated he is doing drugs at the same time so I’m not too sure it’s his mental illness that is disability him or just his actions if that’s makes sense bc I’m not sure if he’s crashing out bc of drugs or his meds but I know for sure it’s not good to tell off your mom in front of other people. I am not sure if I should be careful what I say to avoid problems or not caring about that is far from that. I’m not sure bc family is complicated but is it really when all you’re saying is a boundary? Setting them are harder then it sounds but I know the situation makes me uncomfortable and I think I have to remember that stuff infects your whole life too. I am not good at setting boundaries especially with men bc they seem to never understand and explain doesn’t seem to work so I am feeling doubtful that anything will change with a absence of my presence but I think the important park is taking myself out of bad situations. I just feel bad that I don’t help or fix it and that’s not my problem and I have to remember that bc this happens all the time and her son is almost 30 so maybe this is a problem for them to solve not me. I don’t know how to stop people from fighting especially family bc my own family don’t care if I ate or not so how can I fighting for a perfect family when I don’t know what that looks like. I don’t want to end up in a bad place bc of negative people but it’s harder to separate yourself especially from family bc it feels like a ball and chain of events that build up to this resentment that is a mountain of pain and neglect that I can’t fix anything. I mourn for the loss of a time that never existed and I only hoped to have.

The destruction mayhem

...See more I don’t know how to cope with this feeling of destruction. After I am sad I take my anger out on myself, if I am angry I get sad then take it out on everyone bc I want people to see me. It’s a loop of sadness, anger, pain, and trauma. I hate people until they spill their guts. I love people like they are mine. I cry when things are not fair or don’t understand. Why can’t I find peace? Like true peace, like the peace of mind you get when a hard puzzle is put together. Or when you see a cat and it comes up to you and you think “I hope the world is treating you well buddy and if you came home with me I’ll give you the world” being chosen and not forgotten is a dream of mine but no one cares unless it’s beneficial. Why do I bother with brain dead people who only care about good and not the bad. I can’t find peace in this destruction but it’s all I know to hate and be hated. I only want the truth and why is that offending everyone?

...See more Everyday has been ruff with my parents. Constantly fighting about money, privacy, our house, car problems, and the corse of history of the family. It feels like a challenge to speak with them or get my point across. I want to make peace but it feels like the blame is turned into me. I can’t take it anymore I feel like I am going to explode.

...See more I keep having fights with my family about idk what to do. Today it was about me and my mom drinking sparkling water and the reason was that it was unhealthy and we already had two that whole day. My father and sister was teaming up and telling us we need to listen to them when they say we worry about us although they are shouting. Other days it feels like I am gas light to think people care about me while they are raising their voice or yelling. Idk what to do when it comes with my family. It’s like a battle of egos and pride that makes sense only to the person speaking. When my parents speak it’s like trying to talk to a brick wall while when me and my sister speak we are trying to understand each other until we don’t want to anymore. It’s a seesaw of blades coming down on our heads and the rules are you're a coward for flinching. Trying to save yourself from yourself but you are living with 3 other clones of yourself and it’s you, me and I all other again at the circus. I don’t want to run away because that would be the easy choice but I don’t want to wither away from the pain of holding my family together. If you loved me you’d let me go ,right? But I can’t forget what we got and what all I know.

How do I stop or be more responsible?

...See more I love weed but it’s literally ruining my life. It was harder picking it up than putting it down. Mentally I’m sort of there but physically it’s starting to feel like a weight on my chest. I tried quitting but I keep blaming my environment for releasing. Why do I love smoking? It’s easy. It helps with burning what the past. How do I stop smoking? I don’t have an answer for that. It’s a different reason everyday to keep starting a fire in my lungs and a risk of setting the fire alarm off.
