Employment/Working

While I am glad that I have employment even if the work itself is rather monotonous and not interesting, I cannot help but ask.

Does anyone else get major whiplash from the massive amounts of free time they lose as a result? I am not saying I had all the time in the world, but going from college to working I felt like I oddly had more free time in college than now.

That being something I never thought I would be saying. Is it just something people get used to over time? I mean I hate to be a Debbie downer, but isn't it kind of depressing that this is just how life is?

You spend a large part of your life in school or learning, then work for 20 years or what have you and then that's it? Obviously there is more to it than that, but that hardly sounds like a fulfilling life. I'm sorry, I just believe this realization is hitting me with existential crisis.

@UnsungTangerine Its something you get used to quickly. Finding some sort of balance to take care of work and daily responsabilities while still having enough free time will take some time but when you do it'll make everything easier to deal with. A yearly vacation or 2 wouldnt hurt either 😉

@UnsungTangerine Yeah I feel this, graduated last year and it’s crazy to go from wonderful extracurriculars and community to just working all the time or the anxious leisure of unemployment
