A rough day

I woke up this morning feeling devoid of energy. I've been on my grind the past few weeks, so this was incredibly disheartening. I thought "Maybe I'll be better once I get some food and take a walk." So I did my morning routine, hoping I could shake the cobwebs.

Things got worse though. I started having depressive thought patterns and I could feel numbness and sadness creeping in. It was very unpretty, and I thought for sure I would have a meltdown or something. But instead, I gave myself compassion. I decided to rest today, and take everything slower. I told myself, out loud while holding my heart and tummy, that everything was okay.

It is so frustrating when I have to do this sort of thing, but it was absolutely what I needed. I watched Smile 1 & 2 in succession (these are my current favorite movies for high emotion days). I played The Sims 3. Tiny things to boost my mood even just a small amount were helpful too: I put on lipstick (relatively flawlessly, humblebrag), made fried rice for lunch, put on my favorite necklace, took meds for a headache before it got too bad.

When I feel like I can't move forward toward my goals, it cripples me. But today, I told myself "It's okay, you're alright" so many times to remind myself that it's okay to take a day off. I'm still devoid of energy, but at least I feel a little better than I did this morning! That's huge for me!

I just needed to share. I love y'all!

@HappySpecter

I'm sorry you had such a bad day but the way you out your mental health first and prioritized what you needed is admirable and vital for us all to take a leaf out of your book!

Be compassionate and considerate to ourselves!

Thank you for sharing and I hope you feel better now 💜💕
