Struggles faced in your 30s - share them here
Well, I'm continuing to deal with my only family member (my mother) being mentally ill and toxic, while also having no real friends, no real relationships, losing the best job I've ever had, being financially devestated and my health deteriorating.
@disillusion I saw your post from a couple

Leaving your 20s and realising that shit has to get real! 😱
I really struggle. I am 38 now, have two kids 15 and 14. worst age - for now. i said that before. i work, but i am a cleaner and whatever i can get. i studied IT. i dont regret having kids, i regret that i let myself get out of the news about IT and i stopped there, left behind. i did that to myself. i didnt have to. it hurts when i think of my dreams... i did it to myself
@witchwq
Just an idea: if you were in IT - check out online free learning websites like alison, coursera etc. All have great free online IT courses that can bring you up to date and you can also use details of earned diplomas on your resume/cv. Then you can easily re enter the field. Meantime also check out working from home opportunities like usability testing from websites like usertesting etc. which will give you pocket money and a small boost of confidence.
I'm a 35 year old gay man living in a very conservative culture. All I've ever wanted was to have a family. By my late 20's I had given up hope on that because I was very religious and, in my mind, the only acceptable circumstances in which to have a family was with a woman. When I was approaching 30, I gave up my faith and was momentarily happy as I realized that a family with a man was a possibility. That hope has only been met with disappointment as I am finding that my tardiness to the dating game has really crippled my chances at finding a life partner...
I'm a 32 year old lesbian. I really hate myself for what I'm about to say but I am jealous of women in relationships. I wantso badly to be in a relationship. I've never dated in my life, ever and because I'm in my 30s I feel like I've missed my opportunity. I'm continue to put myself out there with online dating and online communities to meet other women and I don't know what I'm doing wrong but no one ever talks to me and I'm even blocked by some women after liking their profiles. I get this feeling I'm being punished and I hate that feeling. I am a caregiver for my grandma so it's not like I can pack up and move as I please. I hate seeing other people that have their lives together, are in relationships and don't have to live where I am. I feel like I'll never get the kind of life I want and it's all my fault.
Hello,
I'm new to 7-Cups and still trying to learn my way around, so this may not be the correct place to ask this question. If it isn't, please accept my apologies in advance.
Someone in this community told me there is a 35+ chatroom. I've searched the Group Support Chat list without finding it and, when I tried the Chatrooms tab on the 35 & Over Community page, under the Group Chat heading it read, "No Chatrooms are Currently Available for this Specific Subcommunity."
My question: Does such a chatroom exist and, if so, where can I find it?
Thanks in advance for any help.

Hello everyone.... I'm 36. I'm single and just got dumped by someone who was secretly dating another guy. I have anxiety issues and a very high level of emotional intensity. I also have struggles with relationships based upon the way my brain works as I may be slightly on the autism spectrum.
So right now my big struggle is how to get her out of my head while I deal with a desire to start a family.
Struggle to:
- Make connections with new people. I never do well with small talk, especially now that I am 34.
- To find new friends who listen to you and will be there for you no matter what. I said "new" because my friends for 10 years or so, we are okay but they are already have a family and living far away. I don't know; maybe because we are adults and have issues of our own.
@Alina1984
I completely understand your struggles. I too have the same issues with friends. It's difficult, I get it. We're in the same boat.
Just turned 35. I am a virgin, never been kissed, only been on one date in my life, and never had any close friends. Two years ago, I also cut ties with my family and walked away from my career to start over. (After years of depression.)
This is actually the happiest I've ever been. I feel in control of my life. I'm setting barriers and working with my therapist to rebuild my life. A week ago I had the job interview for the position I spent years searching for. It couldn't have gone better.
Right now I'm doing laundry and awaiting to hear back about the interview. In a few hours, I will volunteer teach in an after school program. (The students love me.) Later this week I'm having coffee with new friends I met on Meetup.
Life is improving.
