Loneliness at 38
Hi there,
Is it going to be forever? I feel more and more distinct from the idea of being happy with someone. Day by day, getting away... Some days this feeling is stronger, sometimes I just forget. I have found myself on seven cups again. I try to not to focus on this desperation. There are tons of good things in my life. Focus on these. There are tons of bad relationships around. I know that loneliness is much better. But maybe it isn't. Sometimes. I don't know.
@Ssamsymn
Surprisingly loneliness is all around us and there's billions of people walking around... I hope you find what you want.. just remember to stay true upto yourself and be the best you you can be 🌟
Hi, you are not alone. It may feel like that to you but I promise there are millions of people out there waiting for you to make a move to them. You deserve to be happy and have friends. I too am struggling with this. Just focus on what you have now and try to indulge in the things that make you happy. Or even go outside and connect with nature. Feel the beautiful creations of this world. You got this.
@Ssamsymn.
Hi, I think this passage might be helpful to you as I am also feeling the same sense of loneliness and find reading this absolutely soothing:
Each one of us is alone in the world. It takes great courage to meet the full force of your aloneness. Most of the activity in society is subconsciously designed to quell the voice crying in the wilderness within you. The mystic Thomas a Kempis said that when you go out into the world, you return having lost some of yourself. Until you learn to inhabit your aloneness, the lonely distraction and noise of society will seduce you into false belonging, with which you will only become empty and weary. When you face your aloneness, something begins to happen. Gradually, the sense of bleakness changes into a sense of true belonging. This is a slow and open-ended transition but it is utterly vital in order to come into rhythm with your own individuality. In a sense this is the endless task of finding your true home within your life. It is not narcissistic, for as soon as you rest in the house of your own heart, doors and windows begin to open outwards to the world. No longer on the run from your aloneness, your connections with others become real and creative. You no longer need to covertly scrape affirmation from others or from projects outside yourself. This is slow work; it takes years to bring your mind home.
“Knock and the door will be opened”
“Ask and you shall receive”
Seek Heaven, God is there for those who seek (His) righteousness. Jesus gave us His Heart and conquered death so we can have peace. His Heart is not out of reach. Patiently wait on Him as there is a bigger reward in the waiting. Give glory to Him in all things.
I feel you
I am 37 and loneliness is killer sometimes. Overthinking and all
39 & its not just loneliness for me...
Its dealing with so much trauma.... ah heavy baggage....
And sometimes i wonder maybe someone will help me heal... but same like u, i wonder if its just the kind of needs we arent allowed to wish for anymore...
Strange place this world.
Youre right about bad relationships being worse than singleness. Caution is vital.
@Ssamsymn
Thank you all for your kind replies...
I don't want to end up with someone just because I don't want to be alone. I want a genuine connection to follow... I hope we all can find what we are looking for.
Hi. You know what, I am a decade younger and still I can relate to it.
@Ssamsymn I'm 39 and I feel the same. It's never going to end, I'm just going to watch myself walk over that ledge. Those little lies of "one day" stabbing deeper than a person ever could, regret it's only competition. I have nothing, no name and no home, and never will, and sites like this are my only therapy, and it just never gets any better... So get help, talk to someone, please man. If you haven't already reached my place, get friggin' help
Yeah sometimes it's hard. I hear yeah n can relate
