Looking for friends
Not sure where to start. I am looking for hopefully long time friends on here. I'm 35. Disabled so I have a hard time doing things. I also suffer from depression.
I also get attached easily and hurt easily which I'm working on.
When I'm not as depressed I like playing video games, drawing, watching tv. I do like going out, just prefer to go with friends.
As a friend I always try to be there.
I love animals, especially cats and foster them.
Right now I'm grieving my cat Hopper, and I feel so alone. I also realized I love hugs from people.
I've always been socially awkward, so I'm hoping to improve and even make friends near me down the line. (Not sure where to start near me if you know good places please let me know)
So if you're looking for a friend to chat with let's start. As I said I'm socially awkward so please let me know if I overshare or undershare.
Thank you for your time and hope to make some good friends!

Hi, I'd be glad to chat with you and become friends. I also suffer with self worth. With chronic back pain I have a hard time doing stuff, even my hobbies.
Looking forward to getting to know you.
Hi Shelly,
How are you? I hope all is well with you.
Thank you for wanting to be friends with me. You sound like a very lovely person. ☺️
Physical pain and self worth always go hand in hand Shelly. Pain either stops us or slows us down from doing what we want or need to do in life. So that naturallymakes us feel bad.
The way I see it is that it's not a level playing field and if the odds were even we would win bc we fight harder.
Sorry, I posted my message without finishing it.
How is your back pain Shelly?? I hope you are finding fun things to do in life.
I can be a bit of a joker at tines so it would.be nice for us to hang out and look at ways of having some fun 😁
I'm actually in hospital at the moment so I would always love to see your smiling face by my side and cause some mischief together.
I'm.not sure when I'm getting out. Maybe Friday or Monday week. I got an infection in my left knee so I'm sort of up Doo Doo Creek with no boat or paddles.
I would love to get your message so please feel free to write me and have a chat.
@Trying Hi, I'm doing better. I'm back in physical therapy as my doctor ordered a test, and insurance won't pay unless I try PT again. I don't mind as some of it is aqua and my back loves water.
So my back pain is the same but tingling down my leg is less. (tingling also comes from the back pain)
I'm sorry to hear your in the hospital, hope you heal soon. I get infections pretty often but luckly not bad enough to end up in the hospital.
@ShellyZz
hi Shelly,
im so glad you are doing better my friend.
Hydrotherapy is the best kind of physiotherapy. I hope that the physio is helping you feel better.
I am back home now. I have been very tired and struggling to get back into life.
I hope I can find the strength in myself to get back feeling better.m

@ShellyZz
hi Shelly,
How are you feeling my friend?
I hope your back is feeling ok and that you are well and at peace.
I’m doing. Ok. I have my ups and downs but am getting by.
Hope to hear from you soon
your friend Joe
@Trying Glad to hear you are doing okay Joe. Hope you have had more ups than downs. My back is the same. Aqua therapy help when I was in the pool but it goes back after about a half hour or so. I've been keeping up with my excercises so hopefully it won't get worse. Other than that I've been good.
Your friend Shelly
@ShellyZz
Hi Shelly,
How are you? I hope you are feeling well physically and emotionally my friend.
I’m so glad to hear that aqua therapy is helping your back. Even if it’s for a short time, it’s better than nothing. I hope there are other things that are helping you minimise the pain in your back.
I’m ok even though I’m struggling with pain in my leg and other places in my body. I get sad sometimes because the pain limits me so much. It’s very frustrating. I am trying hard to meditate when negative feelings come about but it’s hard for me to do.
Other than that, life goes on. I’m trying to be grateful for the beauty in life.
Thank you for being my lovely friend dear.
Sending you a hug if you would like one. 🫂
Life as a 26-year-old guy can be lonely, but I'm hoping to change that! I'm @friendlyhuman on ***, looking for new friends to share laughs, adventures, and maybe even something more. DM me and let's break the monotony
@ShellyZz
Hi there! I took am 35 & hoping to be able to make some long time friends here.
Actually a lot of how you described yourself, I can be the same way. I get attached & tend to over share. And for over a year now, any big or small thing that my mind even thinks could be bad, has me struggling with anxiety. I just had to leave work tonight bc I got scared about my phone possibly overheating. Yeah, I know it's dumb but it's my struggle at the moment.
I'm also sorry about your cat. Would you like to share any stories about your cat?
I'd love to be friends.
And overheating phones is a thing. Mine overheated once in the car. Luckily it work again after cooling down. So definitely not dumb.
Hopper was my gentleman. I found him outside when he was around 6 to 8 months old. He always shared his toys. And even his food. His favorite game was rag with my other kitties. And I loved his unique meow.
I'd love to share more but it still hurts, he was only five so I thought we'd have plenty of time. But the tumor in his mouth was painful and inoperable.
Hope you had a great day.
@ShellyZz
Yay! Glad to make a new friend!
Yeah, I think I've been over charging it at work bc of another reason I was anxious about and should just let it off the charger like I used to do.
Hopper sounded like a sweet ball of fur. Again I'm so sorry.
I had an okay day. I made it home safely and keeping myself stable for now. My husband is out of town and won't be home til Sunday evening. So I wish he was home or I wish I was with him where he is.
What about you?
I'm glad to have a new friend too!
As soon as my phone reaches 60 percent I get nervous. So I too like it staying charged.
I'm glad you made it home safely. Do you take meds to help? I've been on and off anxiety meds depending on what is going on. Of course I know meds aren't for everyone.
If chatting helps hopefully I'll see your message and be able to help.
Today the person I foster kitties for got cat litter donation. So my back got mad at me for lifting. We did use a trolley.
Other then that I've been good today. Hope your husband gets home soon!
@ShellyZz
I used to take Lexapro but stopped bc I wasn't very good at taking them every day. I tried also taking both Lexapro and vivance about a year ago but the vivance just shot my anxiety into over drive and cost me over a week at work. It was really bad. I'm very thankful that my workplace is very understanding with this stuff. Of course, I hope to never overdue it with them.
I do have a therapist now. I wonder if I should ask him about med options, instead of my primary doc. Trying to do this with CBT is harder than I thought.
I'm sorry your back got mad at you. I hope it feels happier with you soon, and I hope the rest of this weekend goes well.
I too am not good at taking my meds, I got an app just to remind me. I'm sorry one of the meds didn't work and worse caused more anxiety. I'm so glad your workplace is understanding.
I need to get back with a therapist, unfortunately they kept leaving my plan, which causes my anxiety to go up.
It does feel better. Have a good weekend!
@ShellyZzso confused about this whole chat.
