Looking for friends

User Profile: ShellyZz
ShellyZz October 27th, 2025

Not sure where to start.  I am looking for hopefully long time friends on here.  I'm 35.  Disabled so I have a hard time doing things.  I also suffer from depression.

I also get attached easily and hurt easily which I'm working on.

When I'm not as depressed I like playing video games, drawing, watching tv. I do like going out, just prefer to go with friends.

As a friend I always try to be there.

I love animals, especially cats and foster them.

Right now I'm grieving my cat Hopper,  and I feel so alone.  I also realized I love hugs from people.

I've always been socially awkward, so I'm hoping to improve and even make friends near me down the line. (Not sure where to start near me if you know good places please let me know)

So if you're looking for a friend to chat with let's start.  As I said I'm socially awkward so please let me know if I overshare or undershare.

Thank you for your time and hope to make some good friends!

@Soulofsereness I just realized you ask what I like to draw.  I normally draw anime, manga, or pokemon characters but I'm hoping to start drawing portraits.

@passionateSky4534  To message one on one, one has to become a listener.  Pet loss is so hard, everytime I feel normal again I end up missing him again.

Are there any hobbies you have that you could find groups near you? Or places you could volunteer to start working on meeting people?

I'm really enjoying having a visit by a friend from out of town right now. That's what I have been looking forward to!

User Profile: ShellyZz
ShellyZz OP November 4th, 2025

I do have some hobbies, just trying to find groups near me. I do volunteer, I foster cats and kittens.

I definitely miss having friends that I could visit or viscera. I didn't realize how cut off from people I've been. Just about everyone I knew moved to different states and I can't drive far.

Did your friend visit? I hope you guys had fun! Looking forward to hearing more from you soon.

Oh I love to hear about your volunteer work with the kittens and cats! How fun! How long have you been doing that for? Any tips for someone who is interested in potentially doing that as well? I used to have a dog but he passed away a few years ago and I miss having a pet companion!

My friend did visit, and it was very nice. We ate Thai food and Mexican food. So many yummy meals!

User Profile: ShellyZz
ShellyZz OP November 5th, 2025

Been fostering for around 4 to 5 years. Hoppers family is why I started. It can be hard and draining but knowing that I saved them makes it worth it.

As for tips it depends I'd you want to foster cats or dogs. Most require fenced in yards if doing dogs. And what age groups you want to do. I do all ages and gave bottle fed kittens. I'm sorry to hear about your dog. I used to have one too and still miss her.

One of the hardest parts of fostering is giving them up to their forever families. It's hard not to get attached. So if you do foster prepare your heart.

I'm glad you enjoyed your friends visit! Not sure if I've had Thai food but I'm sure it was yummy! I know I like Mexican food.

If you want foster stories let me know. I have good ones and sad ones.

User Profile: InterestingSpark81
InterestingSpark81 November 9th, 2025

I fostered a couple of dogs, but I feel like I'm ready for one of my own. The only problem is that I have to travel a few times a year to see long distance friends and family, so I'm going to need a fairly compact new companion when it comes down to it! And, I live in a pretty densely populated area, so I'll need a buddy who is up to interacting or ignoring everyone around.

I'm so impressed with your fostering volunteer work! What a wide variety of situations you've been in! And, having to bring them up to home-living expectations, then let their forever home enjoy the fruits of that. You're so sweet! Thats incredibly nice of you, and I know those homes really value that!

You'd love Thai food, if you ever have the chance to have it, please try it! My recommendation would be Pad Thai or Pad See Iw for your entree. What do you like to eat when you go out?

User Profile: ShellyZz
ShellyZz OP November 9th, 2025

I know some cats love to travel. One of them is leashed trained.

Thank you. I'm still working on a scared kitty, she is letting me pet her! One of the hardest things about giving them up is the worry, but most of the people let me know how they are.

I'll definitely gave to try it. It really depends on the budget for what I eat when out. Normally Chinese. As I can eat it for days straight. But I'm always looking for new things. I'll check around and try to see what Thai places I have near me.

Hope you have a great day!

Awww how is it going with the kitten now? That's huge that she is letting you pet her!

Did you have a nice weekend?

I've been trying to improve my sleep schedule and catch up on work stuff, so my amount of free time lately has dwindled 😅

User Profile: ShellyZz
ShellyZz OP November 12th, 2025

She's playing rub on me and run. She's scheduled to get spayed Friday since she is about 6 to 7 months old. Normally we'd wait but for some kittens it calms them down. I always get nervous though. Never lost one to surgery but always have that fear.

I did have a nice weekend thank you. Hope you did too.

Its hard to change sleep schedules. Hope you adjust soon. I have so many things to catch up on. Makes me tired just thinking about it. I did finally go through some things and list them. Hopefully they'll sell.

User Profile: InterestingSpark81
InterestingSpark81 November 13th, 2025

Oh yay! Yes my weekend was very cozy. It is not too cold yet, but we are pretty much past autumnal colors and into the gray winter months now. Perfect weather for soup and Netflix binging! Hehe!

Cleaning out your place and selling some stuff, eh? That's quite an undertaking, I am sending you good luck! Hopefully you'll clear some extra space and make some extra cash!

Does the kitten need extra care when recovering from being spayed? How cute, she is playing games with you, connecting with you!

User Profile: ShellyZz
ShellyZz OP November 13th, 2025

We have some snow on the ground. It doesn't normally last so long since its the first snow of the year but it's been in the 30 for. I had some soup today lol.

It is. Hoping to get enough to do repairs around the house. So thank you for the luck!

It depends, the surgery is harder on the females. Mostly just have to make sure she doesn't get an infection. Hasn't happened to me with any kitties so I'm hoping that luck will stay. She is trying her best! Today she played with the teasing stick. Which I wave around so she was close to me.

She also touched my toe than ran. I also have her mom who will be getting spayed on the same day. The mom is very sweet, loves her pets.

Hope you had a great day!

Hello Shelly!! I'm sorry to hear about the loss of your feline companion. It can be very depressing and lonely after losing a fur baby. hugs🫂

I also joined thus app in hopes to maybe make some long term friends (among other reasons) so, feel free to message me any tome you'd like and I'll do my best to respond as quickly as I can! "Oversharing" is generally my expertise, so that's one thing that doesn't tend to bother me. And if im ever uncomfortable, I try to do my best to communicate that so it can be resolved and avoided in the future.

A bit about me: I'm 33 and currently unemployed. I also struggle with depression (even though it's undoagnosed), ADHD, and I'mfairly certain that im somewhere on the Autism spectrum, just unsure of where and havent been clinically diagnosed there either.

In my free time I enjoy video games, drawing, writing, going for walks, among other things! I could list them all here, but that would ruin an easy ice breaker for conversation. :)

I generally do my best to be a good listener, and I've actually considered setting up an actual listener account on here so that I can help the amazing community of listeners that are already here.

Anyways, feel free to send me a message if you're interested on chatting!! [This also goes to anyone who may be reading this message and is also looking for friends.]

User Profile: PhoenixKitty92
PhoenixKitty92 October 28th, 2025

Ok, so it seems this app doesn't not allow members to actually chat with other members. Only "Listeners" are able to chat with "Members" in 1 on 1 conversations. However, things like threads and live chat rooms within the app would allow for social interaction. You can find the live groups in the "groups" section of the chat tab. 😀

User Profile: ShellyZz
ShellyZz OP October 28th, 2025

@PhoenixKitty92 Thank you for your message.  I'd be glad to chat with you, I saw your other message  saying it doesn't let 1 on 1 conversations so I guess we'll do group chats?  I'm not the best online with new things but I'd be happy to give it a go.

Today is the first day since lossing Hopper that my stomach is settling down so I'm hoping thats a good sign.  My other kitties are of course helping.  It also seems like we have a lot in common.  Hope to get to know you better!

User Profile: PhoenixKitty92
PhoenixKitty92 October 28th, 2025

Hello Shelly, thank you for your response!! I'm glad to hear that your stomach is starting to finally settle down after the traumatic loss of Hopper. I would agree that this is a very good sign. Grief manifests in several different forms, and has several steps as well. It takes time, but it does eventually get easier.

In regards to group chats, from my understanding, their topics are pretty much preset on this app also. I don't think we (as members) are able to create our own. However, communicating in a thread [as we are here] is a great way that we could work around the mechanics of the app.

The app is built this way to ensure the anonymity and safety of the members here in 7 cups. This is done to help individuals feel safe, and to hopefully encourage them to open up and speak freely, without the anxiety of judgment from others.

While it is a great setup for security purposes, it's not so helpful for those who are genuinely looking to meet new friends. But that's ok! :)

A bit more about me: I'm a fairly open person, who loves to meet new people!! I also tend to get attached quite easily, and find that people tend to slip away without a word..

Feel free to message any time through this thread as a reply to my messages and I'll be sure to keep up with my responses as frequently as possible! :) It does ping me when you reply directly to my responses [as it also does for you when people respond to your messages.] This would allow for us to get to know each other and to chat, while still keeping our "Member" status.

Then, in the future, if either of us choose to approach the option of becoming a listener, we would be able to the reach out with 1 on 1 communication at that time. :)

User Profile: ShellyZz
ShellyZz OP October 29th, 2025

@PhoenixKitty92 I'm doing okay, not as good as yesterday but today marks 1 week since Hoppers passing. I'm glad that it pings us to let us know, I'll have to make sure my settings let's it through.  As someone who gets attached easily I would let you know if I wouldn't be able to reply in sometime, but since this is on an app I doubt that would happen.

Unfortunately while grieving most of my in person friends stop checking up on me.  Which hurts.  At the same time I get it.

Anyway on to better news, my cat Faith cuddled with me on the couch for the first time!
User Profile: PhoenixKitty92
PhoenixKitty92 October 29th, 2025

I'm glad you're do9ng okay today, but in sorry to hear that you're not doing as well as you were yesterday. I whole heartedly understand how lonely and hurtful it might feel when friends don't reach out or check up in a time of distress. I'm really sorry to hear that your friends don't do that for you.

If you'd like, I could try to make it a habit of checking in on you here, maybe that might help make you feel less lonely. :)

I agree, I'm really glad that it pings us, otherwise with my ADHD I'd likely forget the app exists.... especially since it's really new to me. I've been trying to make it a habit forme to pop in daily. Even if it's just to explore, or browse through posts that are there. But since it's really new to me, I sometimes forget until I'm pinged. Lol.

As someone who also gets attached easily, I'd really appreciate that communication about responses in a timely fashion. While you are correct about this being an app, I feel that this could still be something that could be communicated here. For example: you just communicated that this is something you would normally do, which leads me to believe this is also something that you'd prefer other people to do. So, if I know that I may be unable to respond for some time, I'll try to do my best to mention that in my message, and that way, you will know that if I don't respond, it's nothing you've done/said. :)

Speaking of, I just got home from my final wisdom tooth extraction not too long ago. So, during my time of recovery [the next 7 - 14 days] I may not be as quick to respond as I might like to be. I have found that I nap a lot during the recovery process, which helps my body to heal.

But, please don't let this information discourage you from messaging though, as I will respond as I can. :)

I'm glad to hear that Faith finally graced you with her comforting cuddles. That was very kind of her to support you in your time of need. Cats can be so kind and caring, when they want to be. It's one thing I love so much about them, and pretty much every other animal. Animals are often a lot more comforting and kind than humans....

I'd also like to take a moment to point out that your writing is actually formatted quite well and flows very smoothly!! :) Have you ever considered taking up writing/journaling??

I also remember you mentioned that you enjoy art like drawing, what kinds of things to you like to draw? Are there any other artistic activities you enjoy, maybe some of these might help to keep you grounded during this difficult time.

User Profile: ShellyZz
ShellyZz OP October 30th, 2025

It definitely would help if you can check in and that is very kind of you. I'm also trying to find people near me but with social anxiety this is easier.

Ouch about the wisdom tooth. I've only had 1 removed and that was bad enough. Hope your not in pain and heal quickly.

Faith and my other kitties have been trying. I hope the grief lessens soon. I think it's so hard as I don't remember feeling so alone on my grief.

Thank you so much for the compliment! I did think of writing or journaling before, maybe that will help. I also think your writing is quite well and easy to follow.

As for drawing I normally draw, anime, Manga, and pokemon. I tried a few portraits of my cats and sometimes I like them sometimes not. I didn't get to draw Hopper and until I heal I'll have to wait. Maybe I'll try to draw Faith.

What do you like drawing? Also what video game is your favorite? Mine is Zelda, though I play other games too.

User Profile: PhoenixKitty92
PhoenixKitty92 October 31st, 2025

Hey Shelly!

I'd be glad to check in here, that's not a problem at all! I understand that trying to find people nearby can be a struggle, especially during a difficult time in life. And I can't imagine that struggling with social anxiety would make it any easier. But you've already made a HUGE step!! You reached out here and shared a huge part of yourself. If that is what's easier, then let it be a stepping stone to a brighter future. 😸

So far I'm not in any more pain than I was in for the first 3. So, I'd say everything is going well. Thank you for your kind words and compassion! 😸

I understand that grief can sometimes feel unending, especially when we feel alone or unsupported. I'm really glad to hear that Faith and your other kitties have been trying to comfort you, cats (and many other pets) can be wonderful therapeutic members to have around! I also hope that being here at 7 Cups helps you to feel less lonely in your time of grief.

You're very welcome for the compliment! And thank you as well! What do you think some helpful topics would be if you were to start writing or journalling?

Nice to hear that you like to draw Manga, anime, pokemon, and sometimes portraits of your kitties! Waiting until you've healed before creating a portraitof Hopper is a great idea!! Perhaps this portrait could act as a memorial for him, and you could hang it up somewhere so he's always still around! But until then, trying to draw Faith sounds like a wonderful plan!

As a fellow artist I understand not always being happy with the finished product. What do you tend to do with your finished products that you're happy with?

I find that often times I'm drawing things like hearts and flowers. I also like to find images online and try to recreate them. Disney characters are pretty fun! And I think I've actually done a few pokemon too over the years. And animals, like cats and wolves, are something I've been trying to learn. I also wanna try some dragons at some point.

Currently, my game of choice has been Ark Survival Ascended. I feel this game fulfills a variety of my needs. Gor me, ADHD makes it so that I want several tasks as options when I'm playing a game. And with this game, it's a survival game where you have dinosaurs as pets and can build your own home! You also need to gather the resources for anything you craft. And if that's still not enough, you can just explore for the sake of exploring, while defending yourself from the wild dinos. 😸 My other half and I play this game together, it makes us feel physically closer since we are in a very long distance relationship and dont get to physically be next to each other often.

User Profile: ShellyZz
ShellyZz OP October 31st, 2025

7cups is helping to. Talking with you helps too! I wouldn't even know where to start journaling.

I never know what to do with my finished products. I try to just save them, or scan them onto the pc. I also draw cats, wolves, and dogs. I tried a dragon a few times but all those scales.

I so wanted to play ark survival. I still don't feel like doing much bur maybe when I feel better I'll check the game out again.

User Profile: PhoenixKitty92
PhoenixKitty92 October 31st, 2025

Hey Shelly, nice to hear from you again!

I'm really glad to hear that being here at 7 Cups has been helping you feel less alone. I'm also happy to hear that our chats have also been helpful! I really enjoy chatting with you! 😸

Hmmmm, I understand how starring journaling could sometimes feel overwhelming in terms of where to start. When I struggle with this, I just sit down and write whatever comes to mind. I'll sometimes set a timer, and give .myself that specific amount of time to just free write about whatever comes to mind in that timeframe. If that still doesn't work, I often will literally start with things like, "I have no clue what to write." Or, "not sure what I'm doing here but hopefully something will come to me." It may sound and feel silly to start like this, but that's perfectly ok!! And by the end, I end up writing about thinks I'm feeling. Or things that have happened (or not happened) lately. And I try my best to end on a positive note.

Does any of this sound like something you'd be willing to try if you're struggling getting started? If not, that's ok too.

Saving the finished products, or scanning them into the computer is a lovely idea!! Then you know you'll always have them to look back at! I wish I had done that years ago, so that I'd be able to see the progress I've made over the years.

Cats, wolves, and dogs are all great animals to draw! What kind of style do you tend to go for? Cartoon/anime, realistic, or maybe some other style when drawing these creatures?

You're absolutely right!! Those scales are what have me a little overwhelmed when trying to draw dragons (or any other scaly reptile or creature). I have seen some really creative and cute cartoon dragons that are a lot less scaly and don't feel as overwhelming. Maybe we could both try to start there and work our way up!! 😸

Checking the game out again when you're feeling better sounds like a great idea!! But just remember that it's ok not to like something. I know at first I found the game quite overwhelming cause I'd have the poor luck of spawning right in front of a hungry dino!! Or I'd get overwhelmed when being attacked, cause I couldn't figure out what was attacking. [It was a really tiny dino.] But I personally overcame this, and now I really enjoy the game! 😸

Do you have any plans for Halloween this evening??

User Profile: ShellyZz
ShellyZz OP October 31st, 2025

I might have try the timer and see if that helps. As for style I try to draw it as I see it. I have done other styles to so it really depends on my mood.

The only dragon I got to draw that was easier is Spyro from his games. I prefer pencils for drawing, though I did finally get a drawing tablet. If it still works as I misplaced it lol.

The Dino game does sound like something I'd like. I just hate being a downer right now. I've been thinking of making a doctor's appointment soon if I don't feel better.

Unfortunately we're I live Halloween isn't really a thing. To many thefts and pumpkins getting thrown at windows. I was going to dress up my kitties and take pictures but just not feeling it yet. Plus I don't think they'd like it. I do have candy foe myself though lol. And will probably watch horror movies.

What about you?

User Profile: PhoenixKitty92
PhoenixKitty92 October 31st, 2025

Drawing it as it's seen can sometimes be quite difficult!! I have quite a bit of difficulty with it myself. I'm glad that this is something you're able to do!

Of course, Spyro!! I'm not too sure why o hadn't thought of that as a starting point! Thanks for the great idea!

I can understand the preference of pencils over a drawing tablet. Although, I personally prefer digital, as I have a lot of difficulty controlling the pressure behind my hands. So I find that the features digital have to offer are a lot more helpful for me. :) I do try to go back to pencil and paper once in a while, but I rarely like how it turns out.

I understand how constantly feeling down could be difficult. Just know that it's completely natural for someone who is grieving, as grief presents itself in many different ways. Reaching out to a doctor about your concerns is a great way to ensure that you receive the support you require! I hope you're able to get things sorted out. 😸

I can't imagine living in a place where all that happens! It must be quite difficult! I've heard of places like that, but I've never had that experience myself.

I think dressing the kitties up sounds like it could've been quite fun!! But I think you might be right, they may not like it. You're the expert of your own kitties, so you would know best what they would and wouldn't enjoy.

Staying in and watching horror movies while enjoying Halloween treats like candy sounds like a WONDERFUL way to spend the evening! And you get to stay nice and warm and dry that way too [it's raining here this evening.]

As for me, I'm still recovering from my tooth extraction. Everything is going quite well with the healing process, but it does unfortunately mean that I can'thave candy right now. I do plan to go to the store tomorrow and see what's on Clearance. That way I can hopefully buy some for after I'm all healed up. I've been watching some TV series that are on the spookier side of things for the last couple of months. As well as horror movies too!

I've watched:

Halloweentown [all of them]

Casper [all of them]

Goosebumps [all of them]

Hocus Pocus

Disney ZOMBIES [all of them]

Hemlock Grove [TV SERIES]

And I'm almost finished with "Bitten" [TV series]

My partner and I often watch movies/shows together. Him and I both love horror films, so it's a perfect excuse to dig through our watchlist and work on getting through the horror movies while spooky season is still here.

No problem, I wasn't sure if you thought of Spyro but I thought I'd be a good starting point.

The one problem I have with pencils is it has to be sharp. I never tried my drawing tablet, is it easier?

I do want to move as there are many issues in the neighborhood. But being on disability means a long road. And then finding a new place, I've been here my whole life and a new place causes anxiety too.

I still might dress them up, just not for a long time, just enough for pictures and stuff.

I'm not sure if it rained today or not, lol I was busy cleaning the foster kitties room, and some kitty found beads. So I had to spend time looking for beads so they don't eat them.

The best time to get candy is on clearance. Hope you heal soon. I don't remember how long it takes to heal.

I wanted to watch Halloween town, haven't seen it in awhile and don't remember how many there are.

Haven't seen Casper in a long time. Was it fun?

I did watch the goosebumps too! I think I saw them all.

Did you get to see the new Hocus Pocus? I couldn't watch them as it was pay to rent. I used to watch the first one every year.

I don't have Disney, were they good?

I've heard of Hemlock Grove and Bitten but never saw them. Are they good?

Most of our Halloween shows were for rent only. So for horror I've been watching Dexter. Hope you had a great day!

Hey Shelly!! I'm truly sorry for the late reply. It seems I missed the notification this time. I received the ones about the upvotes [when you clicked the heart] but for some strange reason I don't recall seeing the one about the actual reply. I'll try to remember to come check even if I'm only seeing the upvote notification. As technology isn't always that reliable... let's see here, I'll work on responding in the same order as your sections of the message:

I highly appreciate the fact that you mentioned Spyro, as it most definitely should be a great starting points to get used to the shapes and structure of a dragon. Plus, he's cute as a button!!

I understand that struggle with pencils!! For me, being that I have difficulty regulating the pressure I put behind any writing/drawing utensil, it doesnt matter how sharp I make it (though I prefer my utensils to be sharp as well). I'm not sure if a drawing tablet would be easier, as each one is different and so is each person's preference. I personally find it easier because the many features on digital art programs allow me to achieve a cleaner finish. And I've been able to replicate specific techniques [even if I'm not doing then the traditional way] that I've never been able to achieve on paper. So, I become a lot more confident in myself when I'm creating my art digitally. Plus, I like the fact that it doesnt waste paper if I'm unhappy with how it's turning out. Perhaps you could give it a try and see what you think, since you've mentioned that you already have a drawing tablet! I look forward to hearing how it goes!

It sounds like you're having mixed feelings about the neighborhood you're living in and wanting to move. It makes sense to want to move out of an unsafe neighborhood, but it is completely ok to feel anxious about leaving somewhere you've been your whole life. That's definitely a very difficult situation. I'm not sure how I'd cope if I were in your situation! Anxiety about leaving somewhere you've always known to be home is completely normal! But I assure you, if you trust in yourself, you will make the best decision for yourself. :)

Dressing up the kitties still sounds so cute!! What did you end up dressing them up as? Did they cooperate with you for the photos? I know when I had cats, I was lucky to get a collar amd harness with a leash on them! So, unfortunately, I never had the chance to try costumes as I knew they wouldn't appreciate that idea.

Oh my, that sounds a bit frustrating!! You can always count on kitties to get into the art supplies! [Or anything that sounds/looks like a fun toy to them!] I hope you were able to find all the beads!! And I'm sure the foster kitties appreciate their clean room! 😸

Yes, clearence is definitely the best time. I ended up spending about $45 on halloween treats.... but I plan to share some of that with my friends when I attend a birthday party on Tuesday evening. Thank you for the warm wishes of a speedy recovery. It was just a simple extraction without any major surgery, it should be healed up good as new in about a week or two from the date of extraction. Everybody is different though, so we'll see how it goes. So far, I've had minimal pain/discomfort and no complications. I'm at the stage now here I can slowly start reintroducing some soft solids, but I'm definitely gonna ve tired of soup, stew, and mashed potatoes by the time this is over... I've already planned to take myself out to a buffet place called "The Mandarin" at some point in December as a "yay! I'm all healed up!" Present combined with a Christmas gift. I'll have definitely earned the treat by then.

For the Halloweentown movies, there are exactly 4 of them. I believe one was missing from the collection where I watch them, but... in the slightly adjusted wise words of Meatloaf, " 3 out of 4 ain't bad." :) The Casper movies were definitely fun!! Theu had the original playing at the dentist, which was actually what made me want to watch it this year. The goosebumps movies were great in my opinion! We watched both and really enjoyed them. They got added to our favourites.

A new Hocus Pocus? Are you referring to "Hocus Pocus 2" which was released in 2022? If so, then I believe I watched both of them. But apparently they're working on a third one! I haven't found a release date for it yet though.

I don't have Disney either... we watch them online. But yes, my other half and I really enjoyed them!

I enjoyed both Hemlock Grove and Bitten. This wasn't my first time watching them. And most likely won't be my last either.

Dexter was GREAT! My other half loves that show! Great choice!

My day turned out pretty well, thanks!

How have you been over the last couple days? Once again, I'm sorry for the gap between messages. I'll try to do better. I look forward to your response! I really enjoy talking to you! 🤗 hugs 🤗

I've had trouble with the notifications too so I've been trying to make sure not to miss any messages.

Spyro is as cute as a button! I even have a Spyro bobblehead lol.

I'll definitely try a drawing tablet, as I also hate wasting paper.

Change is always hard, even good changes, not sure if that is usual for people or not. I'll be checking out some neighborhoods to see where I'd like to live most. Unfortunately most of my family noted to different states. Hot states and I'm not good in heat. My preferred weather is 70 to 76. Even were I'm at summers are to hot. Winter I can deal with because heated blankets.

I'll have to post there pictures when I get a chance, one of my kitties is sick and I'm terrified since I lost my Hopper. Zelda (my cat) gets to the vet tomorrow so hopefully it is treatable.

It was so frustrating! And then Jen(one of the fosters) was following me around purring. I'm pretty sure she wad the culprit. If all goes well with a phone call Jen will get to move to the rest of the house as so far no one wants her. 😞 I'm not ready for another foster fail but for now she can be treated like family. If she gets along withmy babies.

Hope you had fun at the birthday party! I'm glad the surgery wasn't to bad. On mine the dentist couldn't get my mouth to close afterwards so my jaw hurt more then the extraction. Stew sounds so good right now lol. I love buffets hopefully they are good, it sounds good.

I think I missed some Halloween towns, I might check them out and see because Halloween movies are easier to watch after Halloween but before Christmas. I think they also had goosebumps series. I know I used to have the books way back when.

I didn't realize Hocus Pocus 2 was out for so long. Not sure if I was thinking of that one or not.

I'll have to look into hemlock groce and bitten.

Yeah I enjoyed watching Dexter again, also watch his resurrection, new blood, and original sin.

I'm glad your day turned out well and hope you had a great day again today!

I've been hanging in there. I felt better today then yesterday. Of course my doctor forgot to call me back so now I have to call again tomorrow. No problem with the gap, I thought I just missed it because it doesn't always take me to who wrote the message. I look forward to your messages and enjoy talking with you too! 😊 hugs to you too

Hello again Shelly! Though I'm sorry you've been having some difficulties with the notifications, I have to admit that it is quite comforting to know I'm not the only one. I'm generally a pretty patient person, and I've been doing my best to come back here and check at least once a day, just in case. 😸

A spyro bobblehead sounds so awesome! I bet it is super adorable! Lol.

I'd love to hear how you feel about the drawing tablet after you've tried it! What kind of drawing tablet do you have? Is it one where you draw directly on the screen? Or is it one that connects through usb to a computer? I own both kinds.... I much prefer the ones where I draw directly on the screen though, as I find it more natural to look directly where I'm drawing.

I agree that change - positive or negative - can often be very difficult and sometimes even draining. I wouldn't worry too much about what is "usual for people or not." It is YOUR truth, and in this moment, THAT is what is important. 😸 But it is completely natural to have difficulty with change. I think checking out neighborhoods and window shopping for potential new locations is a brilliant idea!! It can be difficult when family is spread across several different locations, especially when those locations dont meet our personal requirements for a happy and healthy life. I can relate with your opinion about heat. Thankfully, we only get a couple months of "hot" [usually no hotter than about 90°F] weather here (in the summer). I unfortunately also have difficulties with colder weather [during the winter when things start freezing] as it makes it a lot more difficult to travel. But heated blankets are definitely a wonderful invention that helps during the winter.

In not too sure how we post pictures [if we even can] on here. But if you figure it out, I'd love to see pick of the kitties!! In really sorry to hear that Zelda isn't feeling well, I really hope that things go well at the vet tomorrow and that they're able to help. hugs sending best wishes and healing vibes your way for your precious fur baby!

Yeah, it almost sounds like she might have been the culprit. They always try to act so cute and innocent, especially when they're guilty!! Lol. I hope that Jen's transition into the rest of the house goes smoothly. I also hope that at some point she'll find her forever home [even if it ends up being right there where she already is.] While being a foster is not suppost to mean that you keep them, it's important to try to focus on the positive of the situation. Maybe she hasn't found a home yet because she's already right where she was intended to be. 😸

Thanks! The birthday party hasn't quite happened yet, but in sure it will be great! I can let you know how it goes if you'd like! 😸

Oh my, that sounds awful!! I'm so sorry that yours was so difficult! As for the stew.... it is good, it's just that I've been on this soft food diet since late September... as we did all 4 wisdom teeth, one at a time, with about a week or two between extractions to make sure each one had a chance to heal before the next one. Hence why I was saying that I'll be happy not to see any of these foods for a while after I'm able to eat other foods again. Lol. And this buffet place is usually pretty good. I haven't been in several years though, which was kinda why I thought it would be really nice to go. I'm actually quite excited for it!

You should definitely check out the Halloween movies. They're great, at least in my opinion. I try to watch them every year around Halloween. 😸 I used to have Slappy's hardcover book that had a button to make his eyes flicker! It was one if my favorite books for years!! The movies turned out pretty good!!

That's ok. Both of the Hocus Pocus movies are pretty good! If you do get to watch Hemovk Grove and Bitten, I wouldn't mind hearing what you think of them! 😸

Nice!! I know I've heard about thise ones, I just can't recall if we've watched them yet or not.

Thanks! My day actually did turn out pretty good again today! In glad to hear that you're feeling a little better today than you were yesterday. I'm sorry your doctor didn't call you, that can be so frustrating! I hope the phonecall goes well when you call them.

You definitely didn't miss my message, but I can understand how you might think that. It is definitely a bit finicky with how it brings us to what the notification is referring to. I'm wondering if it's just the app that needs some fine tuning or if it's the whole system.... as I usually use the app. I'll have to investigate further with the browser at some point.

I think I'm gonna call it a night. It's nearly 2 am here, and I should really try to get some sleep before this birthday party tomorrow.

I look forward to your response!! And if I don't reply tomorrow, I'll definitely be sure to check the messages on Wednesday.

I love music spyro bobblehead, had to out it behind glass though. My kitties thought he was their toy and he is breakable.

I think my drawing tablet plugs in, I'm trying to figure out where it is at. My kitties knock things down a lot so I always put stuff somewhere safe. I'll check another spot tomorrow and let you know for sure.

Glad I'm not the only one. Where I live weather gets about 90 F to a rare 100 F. I looked up our weather before and it's supposed to rarely get in the 90s. But I'm not sure what years they are referring too. Today was in the 60s. Which I think is warmer then usual. It did feel nice though with the sun.

I'll try to post some pictures. Zelda was fine. Her issues are allergies, a small ear infection, and being overweight. He said her heart sounds good which is what worried me the most. Your vibes must of helped!

Didn't get to bring Jen up today but tomorrow she is going in a playpen to see our kitties and for mine to see her. I've foster failed quite a few times, bur I've also fostered close to or more than 200 kittens/cats so I don't think a few is too bad. I had an exact number along with their names but my pc unexpectedly crushed and the drive was erased. Now I keep the list online.

I'd love to hear how the birthday party goes! And definitely hope you have a blast.

I can see why you'd be tired of the same foods. I was told my other 3 should never need to come out. And I did warn him about my jaw. Luckily it all healed too. The thought of having one removed at a time.. Your poor mouth. When you finally get your buffet definitely tell me about it!

Definitely on my list. I had paperbacks so I don't think I had Slappy, that would have been fun! And I'll have to check out the movies, I think I saw them but it's been awhile.

I'll definitely try to watch Hemlock Grove and bitten, I'll let you know what I think once I do.

I liked all the Dexter's, not sure which one is my favorite.

I called my doctor and they'll see me Monday. Hopefully they'll be able to help with some things.

Have fun! Talk to you again when you get a chance!

User Profile: PhoenixKitty92

Oh wow, putting spyro behind glass sounds like a brilliant idea!! Then you get to enjoy it and it stays away from the curious kitties.

Oh, ok cool! I look forward to hearing what kind kt osnand what you think about it. No major rush though, take your time. Murphy's Law is that you'll find it when you're not looking for it. Lol.

That sounds quite warm!! I like the sun, but I prefer when there's also a nice breeze, instead of just scorching heat.

I'm really glad to hear Zelda was alright and that all her ailments are things that can be worked on! That's great news! I'm glad the vibes reached you both!! 😸 It must be such a relief to know that her heart is doing well!

I hope everything works out with Jen!! Do your kitties usually take well to new kitties? And a few "foster fails" out of a couple hundred definitely sounds like some pretty good odds!! I'm sorry to hear that the PC crashed and wiped the files, but I'm glad you keep it all online now.

The birthday party is going great!! I was actually able to enjoy pizza and garlic bread with no issues today! So that was definitely a nice change! My mouth wasn't too happy with the constant intrusions.... but at the same time, one at a time was all I could handle in one sitting. I'm glad to hear that you only needed the one extraction and that all the complications healed up.

I'll be sure to let you know how the buffet goes! That won't be until closer to Christmas, as the place is fairly expensive.... and my budget doesn't often have very much wiggle room.

I'm not sure if slappy had a paperback version. I had a lot if the goosebumps and fear street books. Lol. I used to read quite a bit when I was younger, so my mom had a habit of buying me books for holiday gifts. 😸

I'm really glad to hear that you were able to get ahold of the doctor and book an appointment! I hope things go well on monday! I hope they're able to meet your requirements.

Have a great night and we'll chat again soon.

I always find the items when I stop looking so your right about that.

I agree about a nice breeze. I get hot easily so a breeze helps so much.

It is such a relief. Zelda already seems to be doing so much better.

I hope it does to. Most of my kitties love new kitties. One is picky about it though. The picky one is also my protector. She doesn't cuddle much with me but is very protective. As long as Jen doesn't hiss much she should be fine.

Glad to hear you had fun at the birthday party! Hopefully you'll be eating whatever food you want to soon. Thank you. 😊

I love trying new foods but yeah the prices at places. There was a new place I wanted to try but seeing the prices on the online menu..

I love reading. I had so many books lol. Now I just read online book when I feel like reading. I miss the regular books.

I hope so to. I'm also starting physical therapy again on Friday. A doctor wanted an mri but insurance said not until pt is finished.

Hope your having a great day!

User Profile: PhoenixKitty92

Perhaps if you look fir something else, you'll find it. Is there anything else you've been trying to find lately? A sock? A pencil? A cat collar? Anything!? Lmao.

Getting hot easily can be SO frustrating!! Especially if you're already in as little as possible but still can't coll down! [That's generally time for a shower/swimming pool. Lol]

I'm really glad to hear that Zelda is doing better!! That's amazing news! I will continue to send my positive healing vibes her way, then hopefully she'll be good as new in no time at all!

It sounds like for the most part the transition for Jen should go smoothly. It seems the picky protector almost things she's the alpha of the house..... and in pack nature, if you can win over the alpha, then you're in!! So, extra good luck vibes for Jen so that hopefully your alpha will welcome her in with open paws (without extracted claws) and she can feel welcome and loved in your home!

Well, as great as the birthday party was.... my mouth is informing me quite loudly today that yesterday's decision to have pizza and garlic bread was in very poor taste. [Which I honestly expected]. It was worth it though, cause it was so yummy. Lol. Today, it's back to soup... but I went to a store up the street from my house and bought their really yummy wonton soup.... cause it's been a while since I went in there [other than yesterday] so I wanted to support the little shop. And their wonton soup is phenomenal!! I've been a bit congested the last couple days also, so I'm hoping it'll help clear my sinuses as it usually does.

Yeah brices are unfortunately quite high for a lot of places [cause the cost of everything is high]. Lunch ranges between $26 and $33 per person plus tax excluding drinks [other than water]. Dinner ranges between $36 and $43 per person plus tax excluding drinks [other than water]. So as I said, not exactly cheap. But, for a buffet place, if you choose your food wisely, it becomes more than worth it. [For example, I always like to hit up the mussels and shrimp!! Things that I know aren't that cheap in the store. Or I'll hit up the meat section, and see what's there!] I try to aim for things that I normally wouldn't be able to have at home due to my low budget, that I know I really enjoy! And by the end of doing that, it pretty much levels out the pricing! The other thi g is finding someone to go with, do you dont end up with the anxiety of leaving your seat unattended.... thankfully, I do have a friend here that said they'd kindly join me when I go! So that's definitely good news.

I'm glad to hear that you love reading, and I'm sorry to hear that you miss regular books. I've honestly preferred digital copies, as I can adjust the brightness, and the size. I often use dark mode for my stuff [black background with light writing] so it's a little easier on my eyes.

Oh my! That sounds a bit frustrating for insurance to reject MRI testing until you've completed physical therapy. Were you finding physical therapy helpful at all when you were doing it before? How do you feel about going back to physical therapy?

My day has actually been going quite well today! I woke up a bit sore, when to get my soup and some treats, and then got home and responded to your message. I also slept in quite late today, so I feel a bit more rested today. As soon as I'm done eating I'll be taking something to help with my mouth, and I'll be resting in bed watching more "Discovery of Witches" it's a British TV series. It's actually not too bad. It hasn't made my favorites list, but I still want to keep watching to see what happens! Lol.

😸 Give the kitties some pets and snuggles for me!! 😸 (The ones that will appreciate them, of course!)

I hope that your day is filled with positive things and happines!! (Even just a little.) And I look forward to reading your reply!!

I'm always miss placing things, I think I know we're it's at but if I open that door I have to stay for awhile as my cats would want to explore and play. It's a bedroom that has ao much stuff. Lots for DIY projects. I'll probably try to sell some of it and use the money for things I need.

Yeah, used to have a pool which made it easier. But the upkeep cost and people hopping my fence to swim in it, made it so we had to get rid if it.

Zelda is so far staying out of reach. She saw I had her medicine lol. So I'll be tracking her down soon I can give it to her. The way she looks down on me knowing I can't reach her lol.

Minnie, the protector is definitely in charge. She wasn't and still isn't the oldest. I just have to be careful so Jen won't hiss by me or Minnie will defend. She'll be safe in the pen. I'm getting it ready all I need is to get her in it now.

Sorry to hear your mouth is mad. If it tastes as good as it sounds I'm sure it was worth it! I've never had wonton soup, that I can remember. I might have to try some. Hope your sinuses clear.

The buffet place I went to was $22 per person and I thought that was high. But like you said, choose food wisely. I also used it as a chance to try different foods. I don't normally have anyone to go with, we just went because we had a pet event that day. Our event didn't go well, I think the stores went well, but I won a raffle of kitty toys!

I do love the digital size lol. And the lack of papercuts. I think it's the texture and book smell I miss. Odd I know.

I've had physical therapy on and off since age 18. It helps for the day but most of it returns. It did help the tingling in one of my thighs leave, as long as I keep doing the exercises. How I feel about going back? Not sure, I normally like it so hopefully it'll lift my mood.

Sorry to hear you woke up sore. I also slept in. I blame my kitties lol.

Will do! I had one snuggling on my lap so I was trapped foe awhile lol.

Thank you! I hope your day goes great too!

User Profile: PhoenixKitty92

@ShellyZz

I understand the frustration of constantly misplacing things, as I do this quite frequently myself! I'm glad to hear that you think you know where it's at. That's a great start! I think selling the surplus DIY project materials sounds like a great idea [if you don't intend to use them]! And using the proceeds for things that are needed is a very creative way to support yourself and the kitties! 😸

I'm sorry to hear that having a pool became more detrimental than beneficial! Hopefully, in the future, you can lie somewhere that has a pool that you won't have to upkeep yourself, but would have access to!

Oh my, I'm sorry to hear that Zelda is being difficult by staying out of reach. I wish you the best of luck in tracking her down for her meds! I hear that treats (or maybe a favourite toy in her case) work well for coaxing them to come out!! 😸 Positive reinforcement!! Lol.

Minnie is a lovely name for a kitty!! It's funny, yet very sweet, how some kitties just seem to think they must guard/defend their home, territory, and/or owner. I'm glad to hear that Jen will be safe in the playpen, and I hope the transition to the pen goes smoothly!

It's alright, all will heal up in time. It was definitely worth a little prolonged pain to finally have something that didn't resemble baby food for a night. It just means I'll need to be a bit more careful for a bit longer. If the pain doesn't subside in another week or so, I'll book an appointment to get it looked at. But I'm pretty sure it's fine. I'd love to hear what your opinion is of the wonton soup if you do end up trying it. 😸 My sinuses definitely feel a bit clearer. But I definitely think a cold might be on its way. It is unfortunately that time of year here in Ontario, Canada. Lol.

If I recall correctly, I believe you previously mentioned that you lived somewhere in the USA. And if that's correct, then $22 USD is roughly $31 here in Canada. I can understand feeling that might be a bit steep for a buffet meal. Using it as an opportunity to try new things is a great way to make the visit worth the cost! A pet event sounds quite fun. I'm sorry to hear that it didn't go well that day. That's quite unfortunate. It's great news that you feel the stores went well, though, and congrats on winning a raffle of kitty toys!! 😸

Yeah, portable size and lack of papercuts are definitely two major benefits to digital copies. Also, the ability to highlight and make margin notes without destroying the actual product is great too!! And the built-in dictionary, for when you really want to understand the new words you've never seen before, without putting down the thing you're reading! But in all honesty, I miss the feel of a physical book and book smell sometimes, too! I don't think it's odd at all! I'm sure many book lovers would agree with you!

I'm really glad to hear that you enjoy PT and that it has been helpful (even just a little). I hope you're right and that it helps to lift your mood. Sending warm, loving, mood-lifting vibes your way! 😸

Thanks, but waking up sore is quite normal for me. I've learned to live with it. Hopefully, when I get my new physician, we'll be able to finally figure out why that is and work towards possibly finding solutions. I have an intake phone call tomorrow morning, which is step 2 in obtaining a physician at the clinic I applied to for care. I'm a bit anxious about the call, but I'm excited to finally have a physician here in the city I live in now. My current physician is over 4 hours away by public transit and hasn't seen me in over 5 years. I'll then have to work on getting all my files transferred down here so that they'll all be in one place.

As for sleeping in, how dare those kitties keep you stranded in bed getting your beauty sleep!! The Nerve!! Lol. 😹 Although kitty snuggles are always great!!

Also, I have some good news for you!! I did end up creating a listener account. I'll tag the account here, and you should be able to click right on the ping if it links in properly. If not, let me know and I'll be sure to respond to your discussion from that account.

@PhoenixKitty92Listens is my listener account. It has the same profile picture as this account does. I should be posting my intro message on there by the end of the week at the latest. But you're still welcome to message it any time. 😸 You may even be able to search for it in the "Find a Listener" section if you feel the need to reach out. 😸

It's currently 11:31 pm here, and I've got a bit of an early morning tomorrow. So I'm gonna log off and try to wind down for the night. I hope you've had a great day!! Blessed be and well met!

Hi Shelly it’s Kelly (decisiveHuman) I reached out to you yesterday but I think I did it incorrectly. Or you haven’t had a chance to reply? Either way, I thought I would message you again with the hopes of us communicating.

So my name is Kelly, I’m 52, happily married, a Mom to humans and my furbaby Batman the Batcat! Our youngest human is 20 but besides her and Batman the rest have moved out.

I’ve gone through, and am still going through, major medical issues which have now affected my mental health. It’s extremely difficult to not be majorly depressed when you deal with the medical issues I have. Or that anyone has! It’s not easy!

I was sad to hear you talk bout Hooper…💕🐈‍⬛💕 Batman and I send our MEOWS!!

I look forward to hearing from you,

Kelly
