Sorry to hear this. How long have you been married. Was it like this before getting married

@jujubeex90 I feel this. I'm not married to mine. But, I am in the same boat. He likes  that I take care of him. He works, yes. However, the only thing he does is mow the lawn. I do all of the laundry, cook, clean, pay all the house bills and pay for when we go out and do things. He also plays video games. I didn't sign up to be a mom to a grown man. I already have one child. I don't need another. It is draining me and I can financially be alone if I had to be. I don't know why I do this to myself and allow it to continue. Oh yeah, I have mental issues from past relationships and a trauma bond. I'm sorry you're going through this. You are not alone.

@jujubeex90 and @HopefulOne81

I am sorry if asking for that could be too much, but after I read your messages two questions are coming to my mind: "Have your partners behaved like that since the day you met?" and: "Do you think it has always been like that in your relationship, or might it be a sign of any misunderstanding or a crisis?".

And also: "Do you think your partner might be in danger of being addicted to video games (which, while overused can be some escape from responsibility and reality)?".

Just to let you know... Certainly not all men act like that. I am cleaning the place I am living in. I am preparing my meals myself (although I usually don't need any big dinners for a single person). Cleaning the dishes myself. Paying my bills myself. Doing my shopping myself. Doing some part of small repairs myself (though it's my least favourite activity 😕). I was facing addiction to computer games many years ago, but when I realized that it was a problem (and a reaction to a dangerously growing distance in my marriage) I put and end to this.

I think it can be quite much about the family background. I think my mother was usually too strict, but still I smile when I remember the moments when I helped her with making a rise cream cake, using a meat mincer or chopping vegetables for a salad. But I am aware of the fact that not all men are like me...

Nevertheless, I strongly opt for equality and fair sharing of the daily chores between partners.

How would you like to change the existing situation? Maybe with some honest conversation or small steps?
