I'm just so tired of it all
Everything is so hard, all the time.
I kind of hate my job
I can't settle in my relationship
I'm constantly anxious
I'm lonely
I lack motivation and interest in anything
I have little energy
I'm angry at the world for me being like this again
I just don't know what to do with myself.
(I'm medicated and I'm on the waiting list for a therapist)
Hi, sorry you are feeling this way, I can empathise with all of your feelings and understand. Unfortunately there isn’t any easy answers or secret wisdom. It’s about identifying your feelings and doing things that will move you in a positive direction which you are doing..
it’s great that you have reached out here for some peer support and started the process with seeking therapy. Maybe try a psychiatrist also and see if medication can help you with energy and motivation and mood stability but nothing is a silver bullet and you have to build your own support structure that works for you. Must address the big 3.
Mind
Body
Soul
You are doing everything right to move forward and I’m proud of you for doing these positive things and hopefully chats like this with people who are experiencing similar feelings and symptoms are helpful, because ultimately we are not alone and we can support each other and try and be compassionate, positive and understanding towards each other…. So we can share and support each other. So please hang in there, you do know what to do because you are doing the right things to move towards finding a better place for yourself and you have just begun that journey.
I just realised your name is one of my medications I take also to aid in sleeping and anxiety. So you are probably seeing a psychiatrist and taking medication. i find that Seroquel (quetiapine) can have pretty extreme side effects especially with energy levels! It’s a constant balance for me too. My medication helps but also makes me worse sometimes due to the side effects and I haven’t found a good balance either. I’m currently waiting to see a new Psychiatrist to have a full review of my medication and try and find a good balance because sometimes I feel like I have to choose between feeling crippling anxiety off medication but physically stronger and less depressed…. Or go on my medication and deal with all the side effects, with milder anxiety but depression from feeling so awful all the time with nausea from the antidepressants and exhaustion from the seroquel sedation.
I understand the feeling of disappointment in the world and society… I felt the same way, but I think that’s something you need to think about how it serves you in life having that anger from that belief and work through it because it’s not a belief that’s going to help serve you in moving forward and finding your peace and happiness. Everything you need is within and comes from internal growth. I know that seems like a cliché but it’s true. So I’m trying to let go of these feelings also, for me more disappointment in society and humans than angry, but ultimately I feel it’s not serving me and I need to let it go and forgive.
I know this feeling all to well. Kinda feel like no one really cares or understands me. At 46 a lot has changed and I don’t know what to do. I wish the best for you and to find happiness. May we find the path to more joy, peace and happiness
I can understand how you feel.
You hope that the next day will be different; but it is usually the same.
All the overthinking, anxiety, depression drains all our good energy. We are left with nothing to work with.
The more I grow up, the more I understand how many issues I have. A lot of them manifested from my childhood. Adulthood is no better. All of my life, I have lived selflessly and in return - all I expected was honesty, respect and love. I didn't even get that.
It is painful beyond measure. But we are given this life and we should try to live it, as much as we can.
Something that has helped me feel a tiny bit better is playing a sport and do any physical exercise (I do Yoga). It will obviously not magically cure all your pain; but it will help you feel a little bit better.
After all; it's also about the chemicals in our body and brain (hormones).
I also practice consciously checking myself whenever I'm heading into an overthinking spiral of thoughts. This works.
Sending lots of love and good energy your way.
@QuetiapineQueen
I honestly feel for you and am in the same place.
I have tried to take at least one hour a day for myself to do whatever I want even if it is sitting in a chair next to an open window to feel the sun. Which I do often. I feel you on the waiting list as well I am between insurance right now and that can make the anxiety worse. If you have little energy you could try meditation or honestly take some time for a nap I know taking a nap has helped me more than I could imagine.
Is it better today?
Thank you everyone for taking the time to reply.
Today is a little bit better but I still feel extremely stuck.
I don't know what feelings are real vs mental illness vs hormones (I'm in surgical menopause due to ovarian cancer and a hysterectomy 4.5 years ago when I was 32).
I feel like I can't truly trust how I feel, you know?
Totally understand that. It’s like being in a fog. Please feel free to talk through everything and try and clear your mind and I think everyone here is wanting to help as much as we can and be a supportive place for you. Sounds like you have been through so much these past few years and you are very strong for getting through all these challenges! Really hoping you find some relief soon and we are here for you if you if you need support 😊
@QuetiapineQueen I think you need a break. take some days of work and on those days you should take walks, sleep good and try to do things that you like. get well soon!
I've been thinking of taking a break. I work from home so I think need to go away on my own for a few days. I feel selfish doing that alone, though!
It’s not selfish at all. Please do that it sounds like it will help and it’s not selfish doing something to help your mental health so I think that sounds like a great idea and encourage you to 😊.
Your so brave and i hope you know are not alone and the best is yet to come
We only get one life, do not settle and make sure you are allowing yourself to be and feel happiness and everything life offers and rewards. Easier said than done but it is not selfish to be true and honest.
