Is it a bad decision to be honest about your feelings?

Me and my partner are having issues now.

What happened was, I told her what I’m currently feeling due to her sudden changes which she is not really aware. She’s dealing with her personal issues with her new discovered peers. I am not aware that there’s so much going on with her life right now which she only discovered through that new support group.

So I told her that I envy those people because she makes time to talk to them. I feel like she’s happier when talking to them compared to me. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not against her having new group, new friends, new peers.

But isn’t unfair that while you are working on yourself, You set aside the person that’s been there for a long time? I just felt sad that I didn’t knew those things that she shared to her new friends, new group.

We are still talking because we want to work things out. But it’s just sad that we’re both cold on each other. I know that she’s still processing all the things I said to her. I just feel guilty.

I’m trying my best to support her.

I just thought that, maybe, it would be better If I keep all those feelings to myself and never opened up to her. :(

@limeSky4026 I'm not an expert, but in my opinion, yes, it's a bed decision to be honest about your feelings with someone who's dealing with issues of their own.

I agree with you. It's unfair to set someone aside like that. Realistically, it's what often happens, though. And I also agree that keeping your feelings to yourself for a while might be best.

It seems likely you'll gradually work things out, as you're still talking. When you work things out there will be no point in feeling guilty about it all. I hope it goes well for you both.

@RarelyCharlie thank you for this. Actually, I thought of that too, I should just keep everything to myself so that we don’t have any problems right now. However, before telling her all of these, every time we are chatting, my mood changes because she’s all over the place. We are talking but I know that her mind is focus to her other peers. It’s like, she’s there, but she’s not really there.

I’m not against that she has new peers, friends. I always support her when there are new things in her life. But it’s just that feeling that why I was set aside. :(

I’m not really aware that she has so many issues going right now because she never opened up to me about what she’s dealing with. She’s more open to those people that she just met because she said that they have this unique connection. They understand each other.

Now I feel guilty that I should have never told her what I truly feel. I don’t want to hurt her. But it’s already there. I can’t really do anything now. :(
