New friends
Why does it seem so much harder to find new friends as you get older. The friends you've made up until that point are all the same usually. They say they will always be there for you, Garda yards yards and boom one day they just aren't anymore. What happened you ask???? Life! Life happened. At my age (mid thirties) I'm not wanting to do the things I did when I was younger to meet new people. However I'm too young to not go out and meet new people. Basically I need new friends. My support circle is basically nonexistent. I can't count on anyone it feels like. I don't want to feel this way. I miss having coffee and hanging out with some good company. As desperate as it sounds... I'm putting it out there that new applicants for the friendzone may apply in the comments. Haha just kidding (sorta). My problem is I'm too nice and people tend to only befriend me to use me in some way. I know that are some genuine people out there and I'm hoping I can find just one or two of them.... is that so much to ask?!? I want to go out and have fun while I'm still young. I look forward to reading the comments I get haha. Maybe a little nervous too. Thanks for reading. Take care.
Well I’m in my 30s hope we can maybe test that friendship
i don't even know how to make friends when you're mid 30. I was always socially akward but when you're young you go to clubs, classes, new job every few months and always meet new people. Today is only Netflix by myself.
I feel the same way I got no idea why it's so depressing
At 34, I had called it quits with my only "friend" 3 years ago. I had met her since Grade 6, but our friendship had always been like one-way traffic. I initiated all our hang-outs, not once, did she ask me out or message me first. Friendless now, life has been so lonely as I get older. Trust issues from previous friendships, had made it even harder for me to make new friends. As much as I'd like to have at least one close friend, it looks like I'll be alone for life instead~
@Jaeteuk
I can relate because I lost my only friend too. Now I have anybody to hang out with or to talk. I'm unemployed so it is even harder to make new friends
Life is tough without any friends. I'm always saddened by it whenever I wish I had a friend to chat with during my down times. Loneliness really hits me when things quiet down and my thoughts become clear, I tend to end up daydreaming about meeting a celebrity and becoming friends with him. I've been fantasizing about these situations lately, and I dream about being in a relationship in my dreams at night. This is how desperate I am to have a friend/boyfriend in real life, so much that I dream about it. Since it won't be happening in real-time, it happens in dreams instead~

@Jaeteuk
There is nothing wrong with fantasizing and dreaming. At least you have some wishes and goals in your life. I have nothing, i feel like I don't have any purpose in life,like God is punishing me for some reason only He knows.
With the depression though, I've felt like giving up so many times. Like there's no hope. Although I'm working on changing my work environment by going back to school, but that's going to take another few years. I'm hoping I won't be 40 by then!~

I am in the same situation. Lost old friends and don’t have any new friends.. but how do u really make friends here? I just joined this.. and I am a bit skeptical as well ...
It is kinda hard to make friends here, since we don't have the option to message each other in private. Everything is shared amongst all members in the forum~
@dream2021
I am new too here...very isolated the last time i hanged qround with my buddiea was 2 years ago...i miss me time alot
I need friends.
It’s so hard not having others to talk to, I’m disabled and rarely go out now cos of covid hardly talk to anyone by phone or text n just feel lonely a lot
Same boat, on the computer all day, pretty soon i think I'm will be crazy.
Well...........In my case I am alone and lookinfg for someone to come in my life......what you guys think of I am 40 male.....do you think i should go for having new life partner in this age or i should live my life as it is ??
