Captain Fantastic came out when I was 14 and I went berzerk when I first heard it, I went to the optician's and got the biggest glasses I could find ( not hard back then, huge massive plastic glasses were the thing in the 70s ) and wore various versions of them until the middle 80s ! Leon Russell passed away recently, but if you want a wonderful cd of them both singing, they were lifelong friends, then get your hands on a copy of ' The Union '. Shiloh is my favorite song on there.

Warning !!! - if you are sensitive or suffer from BPD where everything is close to the bone, Shiloh has a huge potential to make you cry. It is a wonderful song, actually the entire cd is wonderful, but Shiloh reaches me deeply as I am a Civil War buff and collect CW photographs, my bedroom is filled to the gills with framed photos of women and children from that time, they are like my 'adopted ' family, as I have no friends or family of my own, save my 87 year old Dad, and Shiloh is about the battle in TN, where so many young men on both sides died miserably.

@SHEAINTGOTNOSHOES If you love the Civil War, the Smithosian does a volunteer web project through Zooniverse.org. It's called Decoding the Civil War. They show you scans of actual Civil War telegrams and need folks to put the old cursive into typed words. I've done several for them and it's really interesing.
@DragonFaerieThanx for that. I will add it to my bookmarks and get to helping out. I probably have 150 carte de visites, cabinet cards, ambrotypes of mainly women, teenage girls and children. My best ones are framed and either on the wall in my bedroom or displayed on some antique furniture I have, the remainder are in photo albums. I have been to Gettysburg and Harper's Ferry in 2006 and that began my love affair with that part of our history, despite its horrors and evils.

@themainjane Hi sweetie, you are truly an empath, if you were able to reach all the way thru your computer screen to Brooklyn where I am, and feel after kicking it around some, that perhaps you hurt my feelings a bit. @themainjaneTry to imagine how hard it is for me to become who I was meant to be. BPD sucks big time, and I am now in my mid 50s, and after a lifetime of raging, crying, self harm, shrinks, medications, etc, I am finally ready to do the work necessary to be the person I am, when not feeling those awful BPD symtoms of rejection, worthlessness, self loathing.......

I'm sure it's very difficult. I am a bit aware of BPD and how devastating it can be.
