Career changes: are you facing any lately?

So, I will start that!

Yup, I am 48 and still working. I am not facing any specific change at my work place.

Are you facing any career change like the need of a new job or changes in your current one?

I am not focused in any change nor linked to career at my current job, a new one would be needed in case I would change my living place... if not, my work place is really great, so I would stay in it!

What's the most difficult part you are dealing with that change?

In case of need of a new job in a new place the difficulty would be linked to...find one!! Younger people have that easier so even if more experienced I think that age can be a limit

Do you see any positive aspect on the change? Tell us about it!

I think that changing job in my case would be positive just because related to a different life's change, like moving to another place where to live.

How did your approach to work changed?

I am less focused on career per se and so I have a more relaxed approach, so to speak. Doing my work well and having great interaction with co-workers and managers is all that is needed in my "now moment".

@BeyondTheInvisible I am currently a full time student and will be embarking on a career change after grad school. I am excited about this new direction. I have always wanted to pursue a career in psychology and I finally got the nerve to go for it in 2015. I graduate this Spring.

Be positive and optimistic and the see how beautiful life would become!

I am not working anymore.

Are you facing any career change like the need of a new job or changes in your current one?

I am happy to have found 7 cups and volonteering here is something totally different to what I did in my worklife.

What's the most difficult part you are dealing with that change?

I left my "real" worklife (in my home country) many years ago. The most difficult part for me was that it was just me, not the business person anymore, neither other "characters" . For a long time I missed the good conversations we had at work. I had to define myself again to what I am truly are and can do. Today, I like myself much more but it took time.

Do you see any positive aspect on the change? Tell us about it! I think I have a better understanding of myself.

How did your approach to work changed? Work plays of course an important part in our lives but we need balance, it's important that we work to live not live to just work.

@BeyondTheInvisible I have job security and no need for a career change. I work all day for 7cups as a volunteer. LOL
