Hi, welcome to Cups my marriage broke down after 25 years together a few years ago, picking myself up hasn't been easy and loneliness continues to be a if issues, it's deeper meaningful connection I crave for. I only found Cups Christmas time, been active in the forums and group chat sessions and made some awesome connections that have been helping.
I'm sure you'll find plenty of support here.
@goldenScarf6306 My marriage ended after 26 yrs. It’s hard getting used to being alone for sure. I tried to look at it as a new lease,a second chance,a time to build myself up again and recoup all I had lost within myself. I spent the first few weeks crying and after that I decided to start living again. Try to do something special (doesn't have to be big)for yourself everyday, trust me, you deserve it! You're going to be okay!
I am in the same boat. It took years of burying my head in the sand before I dusted off and began to move on. I now recognize that although the relationship ended poorly I don't have to dwell. I am worth more than I was left with. I work every day to enrich my life and better myself.
I dont know what tomorrow will bring. I just keep moving forward. Trying to pick the next step isn't easy, but with a little focus and effort I am beginning a new journey.
In time you will see focusing on moving forward prevents us from looking back.

I am sorry, Golden, to read this. Losing a partner that way and grieving the " what it should have been like" is very difficult. I am going through a divorce myself, we have 4 boys together, and have been together for 14 years. Big hug to you, friend. We are all here to support each other. I pray this journey helps you find your happiness and your daughters' as well.
I understand. Married 28 years. My now ex assaulted 2 of our children in rage. After the arrest my ex age 57 decided to go on dating apps and he booked a flight to Japan to meet woman.
Like you it is very raw still but his choices, his actions, his consequences.
I am leaving him after 28 years. Worst thing about all this is the assault and the betrayal. I thought he loved us but that isn't love.
Somedays are hard for me and I hurt inside too much, other days I get on with it. They say time heals but for me 4 months has gone by and it still hurts, he has no accountability and blames me for everything.

there are many in similar shoes. Love term marriages take so much time and effort to take down. It took a long time to build too. You never need to explain your why as you know it. It can feel lonely and we may feel lost. We may ask where we start again. Do not take his moving on personally. We cannot judge others pain or hurt. We may not understand rage or emotions they had in any given time either.
Many People hide pain by masking it fill the void and loneliness with anything or Anyone. They do not want you to see them hurt.

My wife and I also divorced after nearly 30 years. It is very difficult, but don't doubt your decision. You are doing the right thing, especially for your daughter. Take care, and thank you for sharing with us. You will be okay 🙂

What step is the furthest
@goldenScarf6306
The first step is the hardest. Then you just keep your head high and create your better future self. Sadness will fade slowly but take every loss or setback as fuel to keep moving forward. Life lived over in the rear view mirror doesn't help you move forward. Like the fish says "Just keep swimming!"
