What I do is set boundaries – to learn more about boundaries click here.

I also have a self-care toolbox – to learn more about a self-care box click here. Another thing I like to do is walk which helps me think.

What do you do to feel better when youre having a bad day?

It depends. Sometimes if I can find a quite place I can breath deeply and just take a break. If I can

@MissPen

I agree it depends on what is going on so glad you have a couple of things to do.

Different kinds of bad days. If I am just feeling depressed, with no real reason, I can do a whole lot of things; woodworking, clean the house, wash dishes, work on the yard, wash my car. It is really a matter of doing something that I can say "There! I did something"

Other types of bad days get different treatment; today was a mildly bad day so I walked down to the duck pond and fed the duckies. The walk, more than anything else, helped. Yesterday was a worse day and I couldn't really find anything to do about it. Tomorrow should be a better day, I have several nice things planned.

@Offmytrack

Sorry that you have some bad days and hope tomorrow is better. Looks like you have lots of great coping skills that you can pull from which is great.

@DanaMH

Dana, I strictly stick to my selfcare routine, no matter how I feel, meaning positive self-affirmations, uplifting music, meditation, half-smile, I challenge my thoughts, tell myself " you have learned a lot now use it" (parent talk to my inner child) and I do something which brings me a feeling of success like a task I have to do, I d o it and not postpone it.

Another thing I allow myself is a short time of staying with my sad feelings.

@amiablePeace77

That is great that you are sticking to your self-care and I agree sometimes we need a little while for our sad feelings then go into our coping skills to help us out. Love the half-smile comment that we talked about in the Mindfulness discussion. Great coping skills also

@pamharley003

That is a great idea to color. I know I do that myself while watching tv. Going to the beach and using mindfulness to use our 5 senses is so great. I love going to the beach also.
