When Time is Short
Well I have been referred for hospice.
I am kinda I have been telling everyone for some time what was up and I am being met with NOOO this cannot be.
I have multi-system failure: systemic lupus, two major heart conditions, partially collapsed and fibrotic lungs and other conditions.
This is happening at 55 due to massive medical malpractice in Florida, so bad I moved states before the Florida healthcare system finished murdering me!!
Docs here were OMG unfixable mess so I have been receiving palliative care for awhile.
If I had been treated when things cropped up I would have years of life left. But Florida REFUSED treatment over and over and over so here I go to my death at age 55!!!
Visit Florida don't live in that crazy banana republic!!
OP: I'm sorry you got so sick and didn't get the care you deserved. I work in healthcare and can tell you, it's a misnomer. It's really a healthcare business. It's all about money. Sure, the scientists work hard to find new cures and some Frontline workers tirelessly work to save lives, but the bulk of the system is about making profit. CEOs have to get their multimillion salaries and perks after all. Not to mention shareholders. It's not even fault of the primary care docs being insensitive. They are squeezed by requirement of seeing x # patients every day, and then do all that works typing in electronic charts, and calling insurance, pharmacies, etc that resist eny expense that patient may need. They don't pretend that they examine their patients anymore, they just don't. Many don't order labs or ask questions, so they don't have to deal with anything wrong about patients. If you look at burnout in medical professions, it's huge.
Sorry about my rant.
Hiya @RogueOne1983, it's incredibly heart breaking to hear about your health condition and the fact, it's so much worse because of the very people/ system one would trust with their life, is simply aggravating.
You deserve so much better than this. 😔
I can only imagine how living within this reality every day may seem so challenging also, so much regret, confusion, pain, frustration, anger, the many many "why" thoughts, an incredible rollercoaster of emotions, all kinds of overwhelming!
How are you coping with everything?💛
Please allow us as a community to be here with you as you trudge through this nasty reality. You deserve all the kindness, support, love and caring company and we're all here for it.
Sending lots of love and strength your way! 💛
@Sunisshiningandsoareyou
It is indeed all you described.
I must choose not to stay there if I want to have any quality of life. I have forgiven the abusers left them to God's justice (karma).
I help others; it helps me too!!
Mostly I must focus elsewhere at this point. I have done working through emotions and at some point you just gotta look at what is beautiful and good, try to forget the ugly nasty dirty.
I appreciate this so much!!
@RogueOne1983 @RogueOne1983 Hi dear Rogue,
I don't know what to say- it's really horrible and I'm so sorry you have to go through this. You are really courageous to share everything. Please feel free to reach out if you ever want to talk. I will be thinking of you. You deserve all the support, love, and care there is.
@RogueOne1983
Does what we read make sense?? Is there in the time of artificial intelligence and development such actions? Why do we evolve? Is it not for human well-being? Dear, aren't there charities and good people who stand with you and help you?? My friends here in this wonderful community who are in Florida or any state can you help her?! Create donation campaigns from the rich. There are many people who lend a helping hand and help them, because the days turn around for all of us and people’s conditions change. We are with you, dear. We are sorry for what is happening. Sending you a big hug....👍🕊❤
@RogueOne1983 I am really sorry to hear that and I wish you a speedy recovery.
Do you have the ability to get treatment in any other country?
@YahyaAhmed no I cannot leave the USA.
Thanks for thinking of me!
@RogueOne1983
Oh, I hear you, but no idea what to say in this situation. Anything I could say sounds so shallow.
I am so so sorry to hear this, Rogue. I feel for you and what you’re going through.
Also have to chuckle in a not-funny way because I could never see the appeal of Florida.
Last year I took measures to address health issues that others (aside from my specialist doctors) didn’t seem to think were important enough for me to leave my ***, barely-over minimum wage job to treat. Sometimes— too often — we have to fight for what we need. Which is so difficult, because we’re so so tired from illness.
I’m almost age 58 and am going through what I guess is an existential crisis. Reading what you wrote, I feel prompted to ask: What would you like for the rest of your life, however long that might be?
I hope you get it.
I have some close connections to hospice care. Some people DO leave it. It is possible. Just wanted you to hear that in case you needed to.
Sending prayers for unreasonably beautiful days for you.

Words can not express the pain I feel in my heart and in the pit of my stomach after reading your story.
You validate just what I have been saying for a while. This has become the means of our health care system, especially for us older citizens, and it sucks to high heaven.
I use to be a surgical nurse and believe me, I saw so many malpractice things going on, and it was a joke to them. I could not live with myself or face patients knowing our doctors messed them up. Only to find basically no one to defend them. Lawyers are being paid not to take cases, and it is wrong.
I pray for you and
ask for a miracle on your behalf. 🙏🏽I am appalled at what they have done.
I don't even want to say something dumb at this point, but we are here for you. Don't give up nor give in to this because things are not over till the good master says so
