Knowing that I almost certainly won't have try to date in today's age of social media, omnipresent phones & dating "apps."
I will not go into specifics as it would probably break the thread rules, but that is one thing I do not envy millennials or zoomers for. Dating has never been without risks & always been rough for average-looking people (read as "the majority"), but today's communications tech has made the playing field so much harder for just about everybody...men as well as women. Am expecting the overall percentage of lonely, bitter people to increase over the decades.

I hope that with the spread of mindfulness the increase you mentioned will not happen or much less but I get your point.
Aside from my initial answer, the other benefits of aging are...well, actually, I can't think of any. Sorry 'bout dat.
By the time you gain some wisdom (if you get it--wisdom is not guaranteed to everyone), you are too far along in life to put it to the uses you would've done if you had learned it when you were younger.
Your body slowly declines. It happens before your eyes (which gradually lose their ability to see), you can feel it happening, & you cannot stop it. Time will not be denied.
Good-looking members of the opposite gender (or your own gender, if you're gay) don't look at you. I am invisible to younger women, except when they're cashiers at the grocery store or something similar.

Aren’t “perks” benefits? … Wisdom may be a benefit of getting older. There are undoubtedly some unwelcome challenges ahead, but on the other hand, I no longer have to worry about many concerns/drives from my youth. Also, when a young person disrespects me because of my age, I can laugh that they will also age (na na na na na). And as one wise gentleman once told me, getting older sucks, but it beats the alternative.

What I like about aging is that every moment is more precious than when I was younger. I had no concept then of an end to this life when I was younger so life just seemed to drift on.
The wake up call came when dad died. I no longer could live in the make believe child's belief that this life goes on forever without interruption. Life is more precious when I realize now is all I ever have.
The past is gone and who knows what the future will bring. Right here, right now is what I cherish with the people I know, and even those I do not know. Gratitude in my eyes lines the path to happiness. Now is the only time I have.

There's nothing we can do about aging, we all grow older day by day. I like the idea of looking back at all the lessons, all the experiences I've had in my life. Some good, some bad, some hilarious. I learned something from all of them. They ALL compile the scrapbook of my life. I can choose which pages I want to turn to and look at now. I like to look back at the love I've seen in past experiences. And now, that seems to be what's most important. To keep on loving, keep on being kind. It makes life so much better for myself, and all those I come in contact with. When I'm gone, I want the people who will miss me, to know I loved them. To me, that's what matters.
@EmbStitcher33 I agree that holding all our love all to ourselves is a waste when we can share it with others. I want to rest my head down and know that "I left it all on the floor" to quote a phrase dancers use. I want to be compassionate to the point where I can see the common ground I share with everyone.
