Hello everyone in the 50+ community, how is everyone doing today?
Halloween is a holiday celebrated each year on October 31. This year Halloween in the United States will occur on Monday, October 31 so it’s Halloween weekend! The tradition originated with the ancient Celtic festival of Samhain, when people would light bonfires and wear costumes to ward off ghosts.
There are lots of fun facts about Halloween, one is that The word "witch" comes from the Old English wicce, meaning "wise woman."

Fun facts I know about Halloween you can go pumpkin hunting you can dress up to be anything that you want to be more so having fun. 🎃
This week I would say it went pretty well I was able to get out with my family to a pumpkin patch the kids were able to play and we got fresh donuts.
Loving where I am at today I know how the ability to turn it around to change my mood. Before I never knew I could change my mood I always thought that I was stuck but now I have the ability to change it around I now know what to do. 🙌

Good that you feel okay despite your challenges! I wish that I could send you some energy though 💙. Is there anything you can do to raise your energy levels at least temporarily. When I feel low in energy sometimes walking around my garden helps me to feel stronger again.

fun facts that i know about halloween is that you let your creativity guide you for for example costumes and stuff. Also the activities are awesome.

Just recently turned 50, so upgraded from the 35+ group :)
How am I doing today? Ask me something easier, like whether the Chicken or the Egg came first.
Been a member for about 3 years, but only used this sporadically, mostly through denial than anything else, but trying to get more out of it these days.

I found some kind people here when I joined right after my son died in February. I feel like this is a great place to interact with people. Helps me feel less alone. I'm pretty isolated where I live. So this is sometimes the only place I really get to exchange intelligent thoughts or ideas with other adults during the day.
Hope you find some camaraderie here with kindred souls. 😊

I am so glad to have you here as part of the family. I have lost a son and I am in an area that is pretty much isolated. The few neighbors we just wave and that's it. My husband is not a talker so I often feel starved for conversation. This is a good place to interact with like-minded others.

Thank you for your nice reply scarlet. I know exactly how you feel. My D isn't very talkative...when he does talk it's usually about something he's doing. He doesn't really hear what I'm saying at times... He's just a bit scattered brained. But conversation is something I have very little of on a daily basis. It's okay. If I really needed it, I'd find a way but I'm okay just being with myself and interacting with sweet people like you here. ❤️

Got to tell you this. My husband and I have such little conversation that when my husband does come to say something to me the dog gets hysterical barking at him. The dog has learned that when dad speaks more than likely they are going some where and he jumps up and beats us to the door, I think that is hilarious🤣

O my.... yeah, dogs can be so funny... Our dog, will sometimes vocally try to chime into the conversation..... rooooww rowwww reroww..... can't really spell it out but it's so funny. She knows we both love her, but D is more tolerant than I am.

I used to love Halloween. But I can't remember the last time I was able to celebrate it. I miss hayrides, Halloween parties, etc. Every year I say to myself, next year I'm going to do something for Halloween. But every year something happens and I wind up spending yet another holiday alone.

I could imagine that it feels frustrating planning to do something every year and then not following your plan. Sometimes it works best to me to do things last minute (if possible) and not expecting anything great. Often that's when I got the best surprises in life.
I consider myself a Jack of All Trades and Master of none🤣. Sewing crocheting, knitting. drawing, all types of DIY projects, Singing and gardening. I just think of something and go for it.
